after battletesting the #Stardust Update for over a year on #Shimmer it went live today on #IOTA Mainnet.

The Update comes with a whole set of new features.

Let me introduce you to the most important ones:

🖼️ #NFTs come to IOTA. Non Fungible Tokens are now native Assests on the Layer 1 Tangle. This means it comes with no fees to mint and transact NFTs on the Network. However you need to provide a storage deposit as long as the NFT is in your wallet.

NFTs come with a few additional features. In #IOTA every NFT acts like a wallet. This means a NFT can possess a NFT, a Digital Identity or even tokens.

🪙 #CustomTokens come to IOTA. With the tokenization framework everyone is able to mint his own token on Layer 1 tangle. As for NFTs one would only need to pay a storage deposit for the token as long as a wallet holds a specific token.

⚓️ #StateCommitments from a Layer 2 can now be anchored within the Layer 1 tangle. Thus is now ready to become the baselayer in a Multi-Layer-Environment anchoring multiple Layer 2s in it.

📤 #OutputFeatures allow to add some programmability to the UTXO. The most prominent one would be the "Expiration Unlock Condition". This allows every User to send funds from Wallet A to Wallet B with an expiration deadline. If Wallet B does not claim the sent tokens within the set expiration time, the Tokens are automatically send back to Wallet A.

👮👮👮 #DeCoo wen't live. #IOTA wont run on a single centralized point of failure anymore. The Coordinator has been exchanged for a set of distributed validators. This does increase decentralization and marks a step in the right direction towards real decentralization with IOTA 2.0
