@SHistorians Believe this was created years ago to protect courses such as Pebble, Torrey Pines, etc. It’s a slippery slope for all private Golf Clubs.
@SHistorians Article XIII, Section 10 of the California Constitution allows land used exclusively for nonprofit golf courses (of 10 acres or more) to be assessed for property taxes based on its current, single use, rather than its "highest and best" commercial or residential development value
@GolfFoolWendy@BendelowGreens If you can do 2-3 years on a committee and then a similar term on finance, then you’ll have a good bench for board positions.
@GolfFoolWendy@BendelowGreens I’ll second that as a Past President. You need new members engaged and involved on committees where they can “learn” the culture and work toward revisions that their generation may want.
@Chicago_NFL If the Bears need to pay off the debt for renting the stadium 7-9 days per year, should they also ask Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and the Chicago Fire to chip in for their use?
@Chicago_NFL Good post. Would like to see some reporting on what the pols have done with the hotel tax revenue that was supposed to be dedicated to paying the renovation bonds, and when (if) they refinanced to push the principal due to end of the term.
@PE_Dahl Gotta be bottom right is the only one you didn’t par. A fantastic nasty hole! The elevation of the green and front to back slope just doesn’t show in the pic.
@burner_craig The core issue, without dumping on college-age adults, is that some experienced players expected to lead have in fact reached their ceiling. Shaka should have planned for this risk by using the portal for experienced options. Unfortunately, the pressure rises on the players.
@BretonWes@CoachGallik Raised 5 kids in Hinsdale and all went to private school K-12th. I was also happy to support the public schools. It’s simple to just say someone goes elsewhere because they were recruited. Not mentioned is that it’s a private family choice. Let’s not give that up.
Best I’ve seen…”The pace of play is immediately behind the group in front of you, not immediately in front of the group behind you”. Carts, walking, double bag caddies, course design, and distance between holes are contribute to pace of play. There should be a “natural and normal” pace for each course, and players should strive to meet that. Additionally, if the course uses tee times, the natural pace should be accounted for when establishing tee time intervals.
@incolnlay@No_Divots@GolfDigest I get it’s a wide open term..when something on the course isn’t consistent with the overall course design and is added to alter a shot. Such as a unique tree placement, tall grass around a trap edge only on a specific hole, or a hidden hazard.
