@Graham_Couch Makes all the sense in the world. New school must come to terms with both the player and the previous school.
Should be the same for all sports, IMO. Small schools get compensated for discovery, training, and the loss of a player. Would be an absolute boon for them.
@daily_msu It’s gonna be tough. Fears is playing a ton of minutes, Kohler and Cooper are getting run into the ground (especially with McCullough not seeing any time), and the 2 freshman seem to be hitting a bit of a wall.
Hopefully things will click, though!
@Eutychus411@LieOnMyHill@NBA__Courtside MS - we don’t have IM sports in MS, and it is WELL known that if your child doesn’t participate in the travel/club/AAU opportunities, they wont be on the school team.
@Eutychus411@LieOnMyHill@NBA__Courtside There is certainly a culture where families who can afford to feel like they are doing their kid a disservice if they don’t. My kids play soccer, and, at least in our area, there is no such thing as sports for fun. We pay $1500 for soccer plus $500 for jerseys. It’s wild.
@Eutychus411@LieOnMyHill@NBA__Courtside No he’s not - he’s saying that in most other places the priority is teaching kids the game at a high level.
Here the priority for the people making the decisions is making money.
The offer made by the @tigers to Tarik Skubal is an absolute joke. $19m wouldn’t even crack the top 20 in MLB starting salaries for next year. This is after he wins two consecutive Cy Young Awards 🙄
Here’s my biggest deal, though. That’s just not how you treat people.
