My kids have shown me more love and empathy in the past few days than I really, truly understood was possible. Working with middle schoolers has been the most meaningful work I’ve ever been a part of. Thank you.
I choose to show love and compassion toward every kid I work with, even when I’m not having a good day. It isn’t their fault. I choose to try and understand when they aren’t having a good day, either. It’s always a choice. Choose to be the someone who would make your day better.
How you see your students influences who they are when they’re in your presence. Seeing the good in them brings out the good in them. Your perceptions become reality. Expect the best, and you’ll get the best. #edchat#FutureDriven

Reach your toughest kid immediately by saying (privately with eye contact & passion): “You are my hero. What you’ve been through in your life would make most people quit. You keep coming back. I am so grateful & proud I get to teach you.” Then walk away. #edchat#kidsdeserveit
Telling your kids you can't go with them to high school is rough, especially when you really want to be there to see them continue growing into even more incredible human beings. In the past two years, these kids have filled my life with so much joy! #HappeningatHocker
Throwback to seventh grade! We were telling @Teacher_Truitt congratulations on graduating with her master's degree. The kids thought I was taking a picture. 😂 Then we were just plain silly. #HappeningatHocker
