Pope Leo shook the hands of each of these 20 migrants who just arrived to Europe during his visit to Lampedusa on July 4th, reminding everyone that all human life carries immeasurable worth. A powerful moment of compassion at Europeโs doorstep.
๐บ๐ธ Happy Independence Day!
Before cable news, there were Saturday morning cartoons. "No More Kings" โ Schoolhouse Rock's very first America Rock episode โ taught a generation how we fired a king and built a free country.
Some lessons never get old. ๐

Can someone who lives in the kansas area please forward this to the authorities, i don't know what I'm able to do from Norway but this person randomly said this in my twitch chat and didnt comment further. RTs appreciated as I really need someone from kansas to see this.
Iโm sorry, but this whole situation is fucking trash.
The King. The UK government. The institution. The optics are all trash.
Weโre talking about a British Army veteran, the founder and patron of the Invictus Games, saying he wonโt bring his wife and children to the UK because of security concerns.
Think about that.
Veterans deserve better than this. The founder of the Invictus Games deserves better than this.
Next year, the UK is set to host the Invictus Games. Every host nation has a responsibility to provide a safe environment for the Games and everyone attending. Yet the conversation surrounding the founderโs own familyโs security has become a story in itself.
Thatโs not something to celebrate. Itโs an embarrassment.
And donโt tell me this reflects well on the King, the government, or the institution because, in my opinion, it doesnโt. It reflects like shit.
The whole world is watching this play out, and the message isnโt one of strength. Itโs dysfunction. Thatโs fucking trash.
This photo deserves a Pulitzer Prize.
Not only does it represent our current state of politics but it mirrors many photos of past which confirm the ugly truth about progressโฆ
It must be fought for by every generation.
Mamdani: "As we mark 250 years, what do we see? ... we see the wealthiest country in the history of the world -- one where children go to sleep hungry while the world's first trillionaire hungers for more ... we see masked agents terrorizing our streets, eating food cooked by our undocumented neighbors before spiriting them away in unmarked vans"
Who can help solve the mystery of the missing coat dress???
How and most importantly WHY did Kate go from her geriatric coat dress uniform to these power pant suits??
What could have triggered the transition from this ๐ to this ๐?! ๐ค
โI work the front desk at a small doctorโs office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone.
Every day, older patients call us confused.
They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link.
Some of them do not know what a portal is.
Some do not have a smartphone.
Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing.
Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results.
He said, โMaโam, I donโt mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I donโt know how to open it.โ
He sounded ashamed.
That broke my heart.
He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being.
Technology can be helpful. I understand that.
But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far.
Not everything needs to be an app.
Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen.
Sometimes people need a voice.
A patient person.
A real human who says, โDonโt worry, I can help you.โ
Progress should not leave seniors behind.
Because one day, the world will move faster than us too.
And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down.
