@LandonTengwall If they approach Terry to be the next HC, he should accept with one caveat. Kraft must go. He has already shown Terry disrespect and disregard for his ability to coach up PSU football. Kraft is the cancer and Terry has the leverage now. Time for Kraft to go.

@LandonTengwall It has less to do with the common agent and more to do with the manner in which CJF was treated. Coaches simply said I don’t like a culture formed by an over involved AD on an ego trip who was given way too much liberty and wrecked a top 10 program. The good ones signed elsewhere

1) James Franklin deserved to be fired the team was dead.

2) Terry Smith should have been hired following the Nebraska game as a glue / bridge HC for multiple seasons.

3) Pat Kraft tried to hire the biggest names for his own ego.

Folks it not that Franklin was fired.
Coaches get fired all the time.
We've seen a dozen coaches get fired THIS SEASON.
It's how it was HANDLED.
No other schools going through this now, or that I can recall have EVER self-destructed this bad.

Those programs will be successful while PSU climbs out of a hole the next three years because of arrogance & idiocy.

Kraft fired a HC mid season to get a head start on a coaching search, allowing that coach to go to another school and poach commits/players/coaches. Kraft goes on to spend 51 days and counting doing absolutely nothing while all other vacancies fill. This is a fireable offense.

@PSU_Strong Fire Kraft for destabilizing the program and setting it back for years. He had no plan for what happens next. Firing CJF wasn’t leadership, it was the easy way out. As many have said, what has Kraft ever built and why are we extending him so much trust? He hasn’t earned it.

@joesmeltzer775 No I don’t…I think he was pissed off about what happened this summer and made the move when he had the air cover for his own ego. The timing, failure to understand recruiting and portal windows and not having a clear path to an upgrade have left us in a very untenable position.

@PatKraftPSU CTS seems like a super nice guy and the players like him. Maybe he would make a great HC, but this was the master plan?! Fire CJF mid season so you can hire CTS who is already on the staff?! It’s time to call an audible on the AD. He is in over his head and overplayed his hand.
