Cities are the primary engines of economic growth and urban governance requires focused leadership and long-term planning. The revenue generated by major cities sustains development across entire states. Telangana should consider a dedicated Hyderabad Development Minister, while Andhra Pradesh should establish a dedicated department focused on Vizag’s development and urban transformation. VMRDA should be backed by a dedicated Vizag Development Minister with budgetary and inter-departmental coordination powers.
