@nick_andreev_au@LucD22 Right -- that _could_ work in some scenarios (like hosts/VMs moved to new cluster). That case would involve add'l editing of JSON: there are vSphere managed obj. refs ("MORefs") used in the rules export, so you'd need to update MORefs for the cluster(s) in the JSON, too (whee!)
@SimonLong_ Noice. Seems like a fine starting place. AWS Lambda, PowerShell Core, choice PowerCLI module(s), probably some AWS Secrets Manager secrets (for securely storing/fetching creds to VMConAWS from λ), AWSLambdaPSCore for the packaging -- you go!
@SimonLong_ Yes and yes, to both "λ functions written in PowerShell" and "the AWS PS module for packaging λ code" (AWSLambdaPSCore). And, AWS now provides per-AWS-service PS modules (vs. a monolith), so λ pkg can be far smaller than before. What are some use cases you have so far?
@SimonLong_ Howdy, Simon -- there are other options, too. AWS does a fine job of providing a PS module for creating/deploying your Lambda PowerShell package 📦. See https://t.co/rUWO7FCnpQ, and particularly the "Deployment Package" section. I use that for my PS Lambda stuff. Enjoy!
A new release of @PowerNSXv (3.0.1174) has just been published to PowerShell Gallery. Thanks to @alagoutte@shawski5000 and @mtboren for the contributions. https://t.co/0vX9jQDwWa
#VMware @vmwarensx
And, I added a visualization / demo of argument completing to the project's docs -- the .gif is worth at least a thousand words (included here). #vNugglets#rereply#enjoy https://t.co/P2GVKGY0HP
Released #PowerShell Argument Completer script for #VMware#PowerCLI cmdlets! Tab-complete _values_ for over 15 parameters (in over 400 scenarios), live from vSphere. Ex: `Get-VM -Name myV<tab>`. Install from #PSGallery. Post: https://t.co/Kr7m0PPjoS, Repo https://t.co/I8P6Sadh15
Released v2.0 of DRSRule #PowerShell module (for managing VMware DRS rules)! New features, nice bug fixes, more. Update via PowershellGallery, and repo (with changelog) at https://t.co/Xp41Cpf5Gq #Goodies
Finally! Glad to be able to easily, programmatically manage VMHost VMNIC <--> dvUplink config.
Probably has a @lucd reference in the code (spoiler alert: it does) https://t.co/0ExfBhXaTh
Cool! And I imagine the shout-out was followed by, "we implemented all of MTB's sweet feat. reqs, they'll be available next week" #Fab! #Thx https://t.co/zJ82aijSBS
@lamw@SalilSuri It'll be _real_ nice. I gave, "VMw product ver/build info as web consumable data (JSON)" suggestion to TAM/BCS. Still waiting #RealNiceClark
