With @fantasy_top_ getting a lot of attention right now, you will want to maximize the opportunity to build the best possible lineup with the eth you're willing to spend. If you have yet to give it a try, deposit some eth and play around a bit. You will find yourself addicted rather quickly. The team is also full of chads that grind all day, and don't seem to be money hungry. Which I believe will result in a lot of the revenue they generate to be given pack to the community.

Grinding testnet from day one has really helped me understand the game and how to play it. At first, I was a top 25% player, but the more I studied and learned the optimal way to play the game, I was able to finish testnet as a top .15% player. This isn't a full on guide, as I will continue to post more thoughts daily. Hopefully you find them helpful.

There's many ways to play the game:

Trader - Hawk the market for deals and flip them for profits. These deals will become more clear as you put more time into studying. Buy the cards you think are going to perform well during the competition, but do not play them. If your thesis was correct and they are performing well during the tournament, you will easily be able to sell for a profit. Supply will be lower during tournaments, as people cannot sell when their hero is actively in a competition. Keep an eye out on the tournament analytics page to see who is currently preforming the best!

Trade & Play: This is how I'm personally playing. Potentially limits my short term eth profit upside, but if I am finishing well, I should still be able to earn eth rewards + packs + Blast gold to make up for the loss of larger trading profits. I choose this playstyle because I am confident I'll be able to finish in the top 2% of league one. Plus if I finish in the top 2%, that most likely means my cards have still increased in value over the tournament timeframe.

Spender: Obviously if you have a lot of eth to spend the game is simpler. But don't go out spending multiple eth on a card, before actually running any data. Some of the buys I see whales making are extremely -ev. Would highly suggest some of them to seek out an advisor. If you are spending 10+eth and not finishing in the top 25, you're probably making some poor investment decisions.

Player: League 1 vs league 5 strategy will be different. If played right, .3eth can probably get you into the top 1-3% of league 5 at current market prices. When finishing that high you will have to decide how you want to use those rewards to preform just as well in league 4. I'd really focus on upgrading if you are in the lower tier.

Pack ripper: AKA gambling addict haha. With packs going for .271, you better be praying to see Greg's beautiful face show up.

After the main tournament, I believe leagues will come into play. Your league will be determined based on how you finish in the main tournament. Obviously you want to strive to get into league one, as they will most likely receive the largest sum of rewards. But if you have a very small bankroll, you will most likely be in league 3-5 as low value common cards just can't compete for the top spots. This isn't a bad thing. This way you will be able to compete with a fighting shot to take down 1st place. It'll be better to finish in the top 5% of league 5 vs. top 75% in league 1 imo. As you are getting promoted, you are also going to be earning rewards (such as packs) that you can use to stack more eth to upgrade your cards. If you end up pulling a great card, put it in your deck and think about selling the card you are replacing to work on upgrading someone in your starting lineup.

Do not underestimate the power of multipliers. Try and get 2-3 epics and the rest rares in your deck. Playing 5 commons is drastically limiting your upside. If we look at the current leader, they have cards that are low value common cards, that they were able to upgrade to legendarys and epics at a low cost.

Market insights (as of 9am est):

Overvalued:
Pacman - The goat is just priced way too high for how often he will tweet. You have to think long term. He is not going to keep pace with the consistency of others around this price range. Pacman was consistently getting some of the lowest scores during testnet. He's too busy building greatness.

Frank - The bridge legend. Will tweet a lot when DeGods are making moves, but has also been inconsistent over the past 6 months. .37eth for his common is too much. You will also tend to notice that the more recognizable names trade for a premium compared to what they are actually worth.

DB - Just don't touch. Way too risky. Will get you lots of 0s, but will occasionally shoot up the leaderboard when they actually send out a tweet.

Undervalued:

Zoomer Oracle - Usually tweets at least once a day. He scores so well on the site, even when his posts underperform vs his avg. Sent out a few tweets last night and instantly shot to top 40 in the tournament.

CL - Not performing the greatest currently, but they have top 10 potential. .57eth to upgrade to a rare seems like a good deal.

Gabriel Haines - Can upgrade to a rare with .1eth. Some of his videos will pop off on twitter. Price is too cheap vs. upside. Preformed well in testnet tournaments.

(I only own Zoomer out of these 3). Not here to pump or dump bags.

Keep in mind, this is my opinion and you should not make financial decisions based on what a penguin on the internet is telling you. If you would've told me 10 years ago I would type that sentence, I'd probably figure future me had brain damage.
