As I said before, never be too comfortable in a foreign country. The moment you enter is the very same moment you should start planning your exit and putting your affairs in order back home.

President Trump has essentially dismantled the H1B visa route to the US. Employers will now have to pay $100,000 per year to retain a foreign employee, and that employee will only be granted single-entry access to the US—meaning you cannot travel home for any reason without losing your status.

This means that very many people are coming back home!

This should sink into every diasporan’s mind: it can happen to you anywhere in the world. The UK may implement similar measures in the near future.
