@ThomasDrance Not a coincidence. 4 of 8 teams sit in zero income tax states. Under a hard salary cap, that's ~15% more take-home on same AAV. Over this window, zero-tax teams were 11x more likely to reach Conference Finals than non-zero-tax teams (p = 0.023). The cap is flat. Tax code isn't.

@Czechito_MTG I qualified for an RCQ with a version of this deck last year - I agree this deck felt like it was missing a 3rd synergy card with looting. I'd often pitch goyf just so I didn't waste the discard entirely. I think looting is a 4-of or 0-of type of card, fwiw. Maybe it's 0?

@SadClubCommish Kirk McLean? Appreciate the overlap with Linden for that era of Canucks hockey - but he also remains an important brand ambassador for the organization today. I'd probably defer Horvat from your list - lack of any deep playoff run during his tenure.

@ThomasDrance Assume this is first rows of economy on narrow body (ie MAX8) - objectively, first row has a bit more leg room. Celebrini & Makar are 6'0. Marchy is smaller, but middle seat? Nope. Makar & McKinnon will be chatting. Sid will get up if you need to use the bathroom. TLDR Seat 1.

@Sapsterr_ I think losing your best friend on the team (and godfather to your son) hit him harder than he (or the media) care to admit. Garland also a frequent point of discussion as a trade chip - all to say his head may be not entirely in it. These guys are still human, after all.

@CanucksArmy Management excels at identifying undervalued, low end talent, but you can't build a championship team on bottom 6 talent alone. Fan base is asking to solve the top 6 so we can actually win, and they've not made it clear how they plan to do this yet.

@noahstrang_ This management has 1 strategy: keep team competitive now, regardless of where we are in life cycle. They have a good eye for talent, but trade futures to fix the present. Problem is, this team isn’t in a win-now window. 4 years of short-term decisions have only made it worse.
