Our 3rd Grade GAP group is trying to help keep Hillside clean. After researching how to design effective surveys and survey questions, they began designing their own survey today.
Yesterday our 3rd Grade GAP group presented their research on Paisley Elliott, a youth advocate that inspired them so much, they wanted to tell their peers about her and her amazing work to get school supplies and toys to refugees.

The 4th graders got to learn about, try out, and even be part of circuits today using our @makeymakey kits. Even though I told them they'd have an electrical current running through their body, every 4th grader still wanted to try it out. That's a brave group!

The 2nd graders recently did a STEAM activity where we read the book "The World Is Not A Rectangle" about architect Zaha Hadid. We used Zaha's method of designing buildings inspired by nature to come up with some amazing model structures. Can you guess what each is inspired by?
This week the 4th graders learned about the Design Thinking Process. Here we see the "Test & Improve" step in action. Which falls faster, the paper 'copter, or the balled up paper? This awesome lesson was designed by @NASA & @NASAJPL and can be found here:
