Tony McDade's life was taken on May 27th due to police brutality. He's been misgendered by the media, and his name has been absent amidst everything going on. There'll be a vigil on June 20th in Nashville for all who can attend. If you can't, share this information and stay safe.

Today marks 4 years since the tragedy at the Pulse Night Club. We keep in memory those 49 whose lives were taken from them and hold our heads high and show solidarity and support during these difficult times. The world will know that love wins in the end.

Welcome to MT Lambda, MTSU's all-inclusive LGBT+ and ally organization! We are founded on four pillars: education, activism, social support and community engagement. We are a secure sanctuary for students at MTSU and give a place to form a community built on powerful friendships.

Our meetings during the semester are on every Wednesday from 7-9pm in the Cason-Kennedy Nursing Building, room N119. We are open to everyone, no membership required. If you are not out or still learning about the LGBT+ community, don't worry!—we have a strict no-outing policy.

This week's meeting will be our International LGBT+ Presentation, where we will discuss what being LGBT+ in different parts of the world is like. Come join the discussion at Wednesday, 7-9pm in CKNB N119.

This week's meeting will close off Black History Month with a documentary by Yoruba Richen, The New Black, which discusses how the African-American community is grappling LGBT+ rights in response to the gay rights issue, marriage equality and the fight for civil rights.

This Wednesday's meeting, we'll be hosting the Tennessee Equality Project, as well as other organizations, to inform you on who they are and open opportunities for potential volunteer work. Come join us this Wednesday from 7 to 9pm at CKNB N116.

Today honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his achievements in the fight for civil rights in the US. He challenged the ugly face of discrimination; rallying supporters around the globe with tireless efforts for the rights and security to future generations. May we never forget.

Next Wednesday is movie night! This is our last meeting of the semester and doesn't count for points—just a chill day to hang out and watch a movie. Come join us!
