Physical games existed before digital games.

Physical games were (and still are) very profitable.

When companies went digital (more than a decade ago), digital games should have been cheaper than their physical counterparts (newsflash, they weren't).

Now somewhere, in this person's addled brain, they believe it logical that physical games should increase in price.

No sir, you got that wrong, digital games should have been cheaper DECADES ago, these corporations have been racking in RECORD PROFITS for fucking DECADES and we didn't do anything about it. (remember the days when gaming was niche? This industry is now bigger than fucking hollywood).

The bigwigs behind this industry then did a piss poor job at handling those record profits (concord, suicide squad, skull & bones, redfall are just some recent examples). They managed incredibly successful studios with the strategic acumen of a toddler trying to raid a candy store (leading to an inconceivable amount of talent loss & brain drain in the industry).

And after fucking up this industry with COLOSSAL FAILURES they ONCE AGAIN, turn to us to foot the fucking bill.

Well sir, you've done a fairly cold, analytical analysis of corporate financials (after their repeated failures).

Allow me to do mine...

I don't give a fuck about how much profit a corporation needs to make to appease their shareholders unless that corporation is looking out for my best interests.

You did your best to present this whole argument as simple business transaction (especially in your replies) and that's exactly what this is.

If they're not giving us what we want, what good are they for? We've already seen they are incredibly incompetent at managing the RECORD INDUSTRY PROFITS we allowed them to have, why do we need to support said incompetence if they're not even providing us the products we want?

Corpo guzzling in 2026 is crazy, especially when trying so hard to appeal to cold hard logic that falls apart with surface level analysis.

Kaz Hirai, former chairman, CEO and president of Sony bowed down to apologize for the 24 day PlayStation blackout in 2011, which was an attack, not their own fault🚀

And now, it took them 30 days to issue a vague statement that boils down to “we have carefully considered ‘strong’ reactions but screw you antway”

Crazy to see how far Sony has fallen off, from this level of respecting players to whatever they are now.

Stop funding people that don’t respect you and only see you as a number, especially when their output is as abysmal and as overpriced as this generation.
