@nik_dollas@yanisvaroufakis Considerable number of civilian deaths occurred between Jun 7 - Aug 7, 1958 during intercommunal violence, in several tit for tat incidents, resulting in 55 deaths on GR Cypriot side & 59 deaths on TR Cypriot side.
@nik_dollas@yanisvaroufakis So called “liberation” struggle was a terror based struggle by EIKA for union with 🇬🇷, during which 278 GR Cypriots were killed - 15 police, 236 civilians; 84 TR Cypriots were murdered - 22 police, 62 civilians; 142 British were killed - 104 soldiers, 12 police & 26 civilians.
@nik_dollas@yanisvaroufakis Sure, I understand. You think that Makarios, Grivas, Clerides, Kyprianou, half of priests in Greek Orthodox Church & many other unsavory characters in EOKA were all English agents. Sure, it was solely & entirely carried out by the 🇬🇧 with Greeks being squeaky clean & blameless.
@nik_dollas@yanisvaroufakis It’s of course convenient for you to view the documented facts in the contemporary Cypriot history as bullshit since these crimes were committed by EOKA & its derivatives between 1956-1974. Your denial of these facts doesn’t invalidate them but shows how oblivious you’re of them.
How is it possible that a 🇪🇺 member illegally invades another 🇪🇺 member just to achieve political union between the two of them, and this invasion gets fails only after the legal intervention by a non-🇪🇺 member of NATO? 👉 https://t.co/aN0LzUyiSd

@GreekReporterr He is incorrect. 🇬🇷 took many initiatives (some illegal) in Cyprus before July 20, 1974 upon which 🇹🇷 finally reacted in a legal way on July 20, 1974! Kyriakos may not remember, but many in Cyprus do. Hoping that any new initiative from 🇬🇷 side will not result in new regrets.
@MardroH83405@qwerty14117587 You’ll be very naive to expect the guarantor power to withdraw before an agreement on a new constitutional order is reached 👉 the main reason for its intervention 52 years ago. Recent risky actions by GR Cypriot leadership corroborate the prediction highlighted in the twit ⬇️.
1. Makarios in Feb 1959 said that he willingly accepted the "wrong" Cyprus Agreements in London because the only other alternative was more bloodshed in Cyprus which was something he did not want.
@MardroH83405@qwerty14117587 🇹🇷 as a guarantor power intervened to restore the constitutional order. It took GR Cypriots & 🇬🇷 3 years to agree on a BBF framework on which a new constitutional order would be built. Since 1977/79 on & off negotiations did not produced a final solution.
@MardroH83405@qwerty14117587 They’re not included BUT their presence remain legal until the interested parties (GR & TR Cypriots +🇹🇷+🇬🇷+🇬🇧) compromise on a new constitutional order. Denying this only helps delay the resolution of the Cyprus Problem & this is what the Greek side has been doing since Dec 1963.
@stochastikos@qwerty14117587 UNSC is aware about the following order of events: Since late Dec 1963, constitutional order in Cyprus is broken. GR Cypriots admit to this in their statements (following the legal 🇹🇷 intervention) as of Jul 23, 1974 after the failure of the 🇬🇷 coup. ⬇️ explains it in full…🙏
Since 1964 GR Cypriots are using Doctrine of Necessity as a magical "get-out-of-jail" card to MASK the illegality surrounding the Rep of Cyprus after dismissal of TR Cypriots from the power sharing arrangements. Thread below shows that the use of this MASK itself is unlawful!
@Loukits7@qwerty14117587 Please read the UNSC resolution 353 taken on July 20, 1974 paying special attention to paragraph 3. Before using derogatory adjectives, let me know first, what you understand from paragraph 3. Thanks 🙏
@Loukits7@qwerty14117587 Based on what the former GR Cypriot leader Clerides said way back in July 30, 1974, yes. The presence of 🇹🇷 troops in Cyprus remains legal until the interested parties reach to an agreement on a new constitutional order in Cyprus. https://t.co/CjrGSIxWUQ
