Dad & Husband first then Assistant Headteacher: T&L Strategy, Super Curriculum & ITT/ECT Induction Tutor (also Director of Mathematics) at Presdales School
A great opportunity at a fantastic school. Suitable for an aspiring or current Head of Maths. A school at which student behaviour is exceptional, staff well being is a priority, staff are welcoming and students who want to learn.

@DrHelenDrury@robeastaway@UKMathsTrust I feel we should only use the word ‘sum’ when referring to addition. Using the word calculation instead means we limit any confusion when we start to look at products and sums when factorising for example. I also feel strongly that + can mean sum (verb) or positive (adjective).
@Kbaz13@draustinmaths@giftedHKO@CantabKitty Zero pairs is the way to go. Also, being explicit in the difference between the subtraction symbol (verb) and a negative symbol (adjective).
@danicquinn@Ms_Tindall1@mathsjem@Just_Maths@NCETM We have a Hegarty Maths reference next to each question in the paper so once students get their marked assessment back, next steps are there and can be monitored by teachers online. And it doesn’t increase teacher workload.
@HawesMaths@tm_maths Our focus is formative assessment every lesson with teacher checking for understanding and using subsequent starters, homeworks to address any issues. We also have a formal formative question each week which is collected and checked by teacher. Feedback only provided if needed.
Very impressed with the customer service from @Irish_Ferries . Was surprised to see our COVID cancelled booking from 2020 meant we had credit on our account which covered our upcoming summer booking.
@EG_Carr@PresdalesSchool@teacherhead@KateJones_teach Such a breath of fresh air to have all teaching staff involved in T&L focussed CPD after the last 18 months. #retrieval Critical to have a common language as a school and then allow departments to own it in a way that works for their subjects.
