Climate change deniers are using a 5-year-old tweet from then-15-year-old Greta Thunberg to try and delegitimize the idea that humans are changing the climate. A few things here:

1) The Tweet did not claim that humans would be dead in 5 years. It basically argues that if things are not changed in the next 5 years it may be too late.

2) Humans are absolutely responsible for helping to change the climate. Is it as dire a problem as that article stated 5 years ago? Probably not.

3) It’s ignorant not to continue to slow our use of fossil fuels. Renewable energy is becoming cheaper and is starting to make a whole lot of sense, as too are EV’s.

4) The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most affordable cars on the planet. Solar energy efficiency and storage is already a way to save substantial money in many US states.

Making fun of a 15-year-old’s tweet, who has been proven right many times in the past, while ignoring the fact that even if climate change was a hoax (it’s not), it’s ignorant to not try and transition to green energy, is pathetic. PERIOD!
