In a very turbulent and challenging times we are living it is very important to stay calm and jointly keep common sense! I was very glad to meet our US Embassy in Kyiv friends - Arthur Evans and John Steele. We have a lot of common tasks to fulfil and we are focusing on this!
Great honor to meet and exchange thoughts, emotions, and plans with Professor Deborah Prentis, Vice-Chancellor of the @Cambridge_Uni. We are planning joint projects, drawing inspiration from history and vast expertise of the UC, and, in turn, inspiring our British partners!
Wishing today a very Happy US Independence Day. I remember the quote I read at the Independence Hall “Liberty is very fragile, we should preserve it with all our forces”. Today we understand the meaning of the word LIBERTY more than ever as we are fighting for it!
Today, together with @MTrofymenko, we concluded the 🇪🇺 #Eduspace project, which has helped @mgu_mariupol to reinvent itself as a modern, 🇪🇺 inspired university after the trauma of its exile to #BeautifulKyiv. Results are impressive & bode well for 🇺🇦 future! Because 🇺🇦 will win.
I had the chance to meet with students from Mariupol State University who had to relocate to Kyiv after they were subjected to intense shelling from Russia at the start of the war.
Their story exemplifies the spirit and courage of Ukraine.

2 years ago! No matter how difficult it is, but it’s important to remember and to bring russia and its dictator to responsibility for the war crimes and committed in Mariupol and in Ukraine! And the world shouldn’t forget and relax - the danger is getting bigger every day!
Today at the Ukrainian Center, the First Lady met with the Rector of the Mariupol State University @MTrofymenko.
“University, like city, can be destroyed, but the spirit of heroes is unbreakable. I’m sure your name will once again be heard around the world,” D. Nausėdienė said.

The pupils, students and teachers of Ukraine can count on our support.
