10 AM ROAD UPDATE: Snow continues to fall across the area with several accidents reported along 1-90. Slushy and icy conditions are being reported on Bozeman Pass, Homestake Pass, the Gallatin Canyon as well as near Norris. Chains are required for towing units on Homestake Pass
730 AM ROAD UPDATE: There are several crashes happening this morning as more people head out on the area roads. Watch the roadways as we are dealing with a layer of ice this morning. There are still flakes flying on Bozeman Pass and down the Gallatin Canyon.
ROAD UPDATE: Snow is falling on Homestake Pass this morning. Road temperatures have dropped to freezing. Watch for ice and slushy snow if you are traveling on Homestake throughout the day on Wednesday.
Here is some interesting facts.... So far no killing frost at the official reporting station in Bozeman on the Montana State campus. We have had frost in the area though.

A wind gust of 79mph occurred at Bozeman Airport Mon evening with a dry rain shower (raining aloft but not reaching the ground). This gust is the all-time high gust recorded for Bozeman! The previous all-time high gust was 78 mph set on July 30, 1957. #mtwx

Light snow is falling in southwest Montana this morning. The heaviest snow is falling on Homestake Pass but slick conditions have been reported on Bozeman Pass and down the Gallatin Canyon. Snow amounts are expected to be to 2"-5" on passes with the heaviest snow in the morning.
8:30 am Saturday MDT cameras show snow over most mountain passes. Watch for slushy accumulations and icy bridge decks if traveling. A Winter Weather Advisory is up through midnight for most of SW Montana, centeral and southern Montana.
Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Watch is up across SW Montana Monday afternoon and evening. Snow is likely to accumulate above 6,000'. Wind gusts over 30 mph are possible. Be prepared for cold, wet, and windy conditions in the backcountry Monday.
