@CSURamT Do tv markets matter like that once did? There's no conference network that you're trying to get cable subscribers for (think the B1G add of Rutgers for BTN)
I think brands people know with actual fan bases should be the goal.
@RepBaumgartner@GregWWoods If power conference membership is frozen. Then there needs to be a promotion/relegation system where six schools from across the G6 replace the six worst P4 members every 4 years or so. Demoted P4 can play their way back during the next promotion/relegation period.
The @SunBelt continues to prove it's one of the strongest and most stable conferences in the G5.
π FY25 Conference Revenue: $57.2 Million
π° Top Distribution:π₯ James Madison β $1.9M
π Every other member received $1.71M in distributions

@TheHerdsHeadset@THEBC43 I think there's still a wait list for suites. I think you could do both. Suites on each side of the scoreboard. And below those there could be your idea.
@Genetics56 Would UConn be a football only to get an easy 9th school or do you think they would be the start of an East Division and coast to coast conference?
If the P4 can't legally expand again. And the G6 is permanently locked out of moving up. The Protect College Sports Act should add a relegation system.
If UConn is added for football only the below schools have an easier path towards membership
JMU
Coastal Carolina
App State
Marshall
Teams with a slightly easier path
Memphis
Tulane
USF
Not saying ANY of these happen but does become an easier sell for the school and conference
@TheHerdBros@KLVsays I'd be interested in a secondary tournament if there were some kind of promotion/relegation stakes attached to it. No idea how it would work though since the top G6 team (or two) would be in the actual CFP.
Also just thinking out loud.

@MIll89865@ThunderCast_Pod I'm only speculating but it sounds like the lawsuit caused Marshall to reverse course. So being in court may have been more expensive than just funding S&D. Which I understand. But I don't understand still adding Stunt.
@weekley@McDonalds Out on fast food in general. Years ago, you expected fast food to be decent at best. But the price was low so that was the trade off. Now the prices are like sit-down restaurants. It's crazy.
@HerdThoughts In '03 with no chance at an East division title the Ohio game only had 19k.
The non-conference games in '10, '12, '14 and '19 (all in September) did very well averaging 30K
@HerdThoughts 3 Ohio games have been in November since '97. '97 was over 32k but also the last regular season game for the East division championship. '99 had over 28k but was also the last regular season game trying to remain undefeated. Two games with a lot on the line outside of opponent.
