It’s almost getting comical at this point.

Trump literally said there would be “no exemptions” to his reciprocal tariffs (see video) and MAGA cheered.

“No, with reciprocal [tariffs] you don’t need to,” he said.

Now, suddenly he’s backtracking again and adding a bunch of exemptions to his reciprocal tariffs. And MAGA is cheering yet again.

It’s almost as if he has no idea what he’s doing and MAGA doesn’t stand for anything except whatever Trump says and does.

Suppose the South African government started a fund that said a portion of our fiscus would go into it for the next 10 years. After that 10 years, every child born would get an account with a basic amount of money. That money would accrue interest until they were 18, at which time they could use it to buy a car, go to a tertiary institution, travel, reinvest it, put a deposit on a property, etc. A #FutureFund, if you will

Yes, some may use it irresponsibly, but many wouldn’t. Once it became a cultural norm in society, most kids would grow up knowing they had a boost to start off their adult lives and plan accordingly.

This would be for everybody.

The question is, would you agree to that today, whether you have a child or not or plan to, or that your children may be too old for them to benefit from it because they will be past 18?

I ask because I've been thinking that if we feel that we can't fix the things that caused past injustices totally or fast enough in our country, could we all sacrifice our chance at that to give a new generation “more” of a clean slate to start off with?

Pick n Pay to close 32 stores nationwide

Excluding the company’s discount retail business, Boxer’s strong results, Pick n Pay’s sales declined for the majority of its 2025 financial year.

The company shared today that the Pick n Pay segment reported a 0.4% decline in sales and meagre growth of 1.6% on a like-for-like basis.

The retailer under its ‘Store Estate Reset’ embarked on this drastic plan with the aim to “optimise operations and focus on profitable locations” according to some reports.

Sad news for 1000s of staffers who will now be unemployed.

I don’t understand the rationale. If I need to pay for a quote, I’d simply move on to the next service provider. People request for quotes, because your prices are not publicly available anywhere and one needs to know the cost before making a decision.
