@KirstieMAllsopp Almost all learning theory supports children starting formal education later, before that play based learning and the emphasis on social skills and language are considered more important. We are one of the only countries in the world that start them so young.

@KirstieMAllsopp At our forest school setting in Basingstoke we have lots of children who attend for an extra year either whilst going to school part time or before they start reception aged 5. It is incredibly beneficial for them.

@KirstieMAllsopp We are so lucky to have this in Hampshire. My daughter was 4 in June and starts next September in reception aged 5yrs 3mths. Absolutely the right decision for her as she isn't ready.
