@deerlydeerling twitters algorithm might as well be a porn algorithm at how well it shoves nsfw posts onto feeds yet it can’t do anything else correctly
@darkshineess also I think the name octanecore actually got traction is because of how people use the core suffix when naming aesthetics which is infuriating for so many other reasons
@darkshineess that’s exactly what I mean though a genre is gaining mainstream footing in the worst way possible because a name is being used incorrectly resulting in the mainstream perception surrounding the genre shifting away from what it actually is
@darkshineess I mean there are some bad examples of this like the octanecore slop that gets labelled as metalcore but there’s genuinely no reason to be mad at a band that is true to the genre getting popular the only criticism I see often that is reasonable is people not liking Bryan’s vocals
@darkshineess it’s just crazy to me how they all act exactly like they sound on the internet it’s almost fascinating
I would love to sit down with one and just ask “why are you like this?” Over and over again until they properly answer
