Now, runs scored by Nepali players in the NPL would carry equal value to runs scored in big leagues like the IPL, PSL, Big Bash, etc. Getting List A T20 status is definitely the biggest news for the NPL.

I overheard that each of the 12 teams would play 33 games in the next 2027-31 CWC League 2 Cycle. That means reduction of total games from 36. Most likely to be bilateral rather than a tri-series.

But if true, that would mean 12 Associate ODI teams next cycle. Difficult to see the 50 over structure staying the same in that case, as that would imply Challenge League would be a mixed ODI/List A comp, like the last WCLC was. 12 team League 2 also unworkable in current format.

If this happens, Nepal's ODI status will automatically be secured.

Additionally, teams such as Italy, Uganda, Jersey, and Kuwait could also receive ODI status until the 2031 World Cup Qualifier.
