(Re)- Introducing FAMIONS @ https://t.co/sGn7wzGslv✌️
With north of 1.5m views monthly (and growing) on socials, with ZERO ad spend, Famions are a mischievous and kawaii spin against historically horror- leaning Filipino folklore.. something we’d not seen done prior. And we’re glad to see so many new fans loving Sundo, Adarna, Diwata, and Duwende 🖤
Formerly known as “Familiars World”, the character brands unprecedented cost efficient growth in just one year led us to commit to its own original name and brand, and we’re delighted that growth continues.
We welcome you to the official site: https://t.co/sGn7wzGslv
Famions core IP is operated by a tiny team, and we’re excited to open the IPs doors to builders and contributors who want to grow the brand and experiences that scale, and earn from it— if that’s you and you’re interested don’t hesitate to reach out.
uppity up for familiars world on tiktok.
familiars character brand is the web2 sleeper ip that compliments the web3 native nft holders/builders
in time, building your product on the Kusho eco ip will be a wise distribution play.
i will remember those who took the shot early.
Back-to-back typhoons has brought non-stop rain and heavy winds to the Philippines.
Many of your favorite PH community members, mods, staff, contributors may need your patience.
Stay safu 🇵🇭🫂
This was very true for the last 1 year when building Kusho as a community protocol - - a term I coined that pushed the concept of a venture studio meets dao, builders funneled from community network.
We incubated and financed identified builders and periphery individuals, but culturally was on a backdrop of envisioned openess dialed to 9/10.
I thought to fast track lessons from other DAOs and orgs at a nano scale, paired with bringing in revenue from trad content businesses I can reliably execute on
In that time, true enough to the insight here from Kyle, the traditional plays in content like our TikTok worked out, paid and incentivized monetary building wouldn’t break past a ceiling if I wasn’t hands on.
There’s more nuance to each initiative that is paused or didn’t work out. Many are revivable with the right timing, but most anchor on package incentive which can’t be sustained with breadth. Meaning quickly needing to concentrate on winners.
Concentrating on quick sign winners essentially brings back a venture studio model and all benefits of a wider open network dao concept fades into half-hearted efforts.
We’ve thankfully been able to address this ahead of time at Kusho’s contributor team— and the focus will be shown this H2.
But it’s still a painful part of the journey to have had to learn first-hand and cost myself notable opex.
Still, the wins are worth it, having absorbed the talent we have now, and the network and product capability was part of the calculated risk. And with no external investors, Kusho will continue to survive and thrive.
99% of PFP projects had no way to pivot or acumen outside flipping and fees (removing the intentional rugs cohort)
Kusho endures.
