@BaisiHenry50911@emmanuelokware_ Thank you @BaisiHenry50911 for exposing facts! Broad money alone can’t be enough to explain inflation or exchange rate depreciation. Distinguishing the components of M3 especially CPS vs its equilibrium (CPS gap) would at least give an indication, without ignoring other sources.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄: The Monetary Policy Committee has decided to increase the CBR by 50 basis points from 8.25 percent to 8.75 percent. This decision signals a continuation of the monetary policy tightening cycle and reaffirms the Central Bank’s commitment to price stability. It is expected to anchor inflation expectations, limit second-round effects and support inflation’s return to the target range in the second half of 2027.
The MPC will continue to monitor economic conditions closely and is committed to ensuring a return to the 5 percent inflation objective in the medium term.
