We have officially begun the desilting and unclogging of drainage channels in Bwaise Katoogo, starting with the main clogged channel that stretches from Kawempe–Kazo to Bwaise. This marks the beginning of our community led effort to restore proper water flow, reduce flooding and promote a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone.

A drainage channel in Bwaise Katoogo filled with rubbish, stagnant water and silt. It is supposed to empty into the main drainage channel but is unable to because it is clogged. This is the first channel we plan to unclog and desilt to restore the flow of water and help reduce flooding in the community.
