In Busoga you need to sell 75kgs of dried Cassava at 200UGX each to afford 1 kg of beef at 15,000UGX.
It isn’t about the poor people affording a cassava flour meal. They should be able to afford education( a 4 quire book costs 10,000UGX equivalence of 50kgs of cassava.

The news of King Oyo passing hit me hard. My heart struggles to accept the finality of it all, and over the last few days, I have experienced great pain, marked by a continual and deep feeling of sadness.

Each day, since his promotion to glory, I have thought about his loved ones, especially his mother. I grieve for her, knowing she bears a loss no parent should endure. Losing a child, and a king, is an immeasurable sorrow.

King Oyo was more than just a monarch; he was a beacon of hope and kindness in a world that desperately needs both. He carried the weight of his crown with a humility that drew people close, never letting his royal status stand in the way of a genuine connection. In every encounter, his warmth and empathy shone through, touching hearts and reminding us of the power of gentle leadership. Those who met him were not just impressed; they were moved and comforted by the presence of a king who truly cared.

The finality of this loss, which has been characterised by many sleepless nights of wrestling with questions, emotions swirling in disbelief, anger, and profound sadness, feels like an unbearable weight. But amidst this darkness, one truth shines and brings the only comfort our aching hearts can find. The blessed assurance that King Oyo walked hand in hand with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (the King of kings). The crown he now wears is not of this world, but of eternal glory. He has traded his earthly throne for a seat in paradise.

Rest well, gentle soul. Until we meet again in a place without sorrow or tears, you will remain in our hearts.

When Mama @JanetMuseveni left the comfort of State House for the hardship of Karamoja, she carried more than a message, a heart for the people.
She could have remained in the comfort of State House Nakasero surrounded by every convenience. Instead, she chose to travel to Karamoja, sleep in difficult conditions, endure mosquitoes, heat, discomfort and sit among communities whose daily struggles are far removed from the comfort of Kampala.

When the world prayed, God answered❤️
When Mama @JanetMuseveni ‘s health was at a difficult point, children and young people across Uganda and beyond lifted her up in prayer. From homes, schools, churches, communities and different corners of the world, countless hearts joined together, asking God to strengthen her, restore her health, and give her renewed strength.
Today, we give God all the glory for hearing our prayers. What began with concern and tears has become a testimony of hope, faith and answered prayer.
Mama @JanetMuseveni , your recovery is a reminder that God still hears the prayers of His people. The children you have inspired, nurtured and stood for around the world continue to celebrate you and thank God for your life.

Amidst @JanetMuseveni ‘s works as Minister of Karamoja and minister of education, @UWESO1 stands out differently the call to take care of Orphans and windows is what James wrote about in James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

As a member of @UwesoAlumni we give glory to God for answering our prayers and not forsaking us.
