Ibrahim said the state government was also developing the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) system and Kaduna Light Rail project.
He added that plans were underway to explore water transportation on River Kaduna as part of a comprehensive multimodal transport system.
According to him, the administration aims to position Kaduna as a modern transport hub operating in line with international standards.

Kaduna free CNG Bus Scheme Benefits 3.2m Commuters in a year , Bus Stops 80% Completed
The Kaduna State Government says no fewer than 3.2M residents have so far benefited from its free Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mass transit scheme as part of efforts to improve transportation and ease the cost of commuting across the state.
The Acting Managing Director of Kaduna Line and Acting Director General of the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority (KADSTRA), Engr. Inuwa Ibrahim, disclosed this during an inspection of some of the newly constructed bus stops in Kaduna.
Ibrahim said the transport initiative was one of the key infrastructure projects of Gov. Uba Sani's administration aimed at providing affordable, safe and efficient public transportation for residents.
He said the government was constructing 200 modern bus stops across the state to complement the deployment of 100 CNG powered buses currently providing free transport services.
"As you can see, we are here today to witness the transport infrastructure development that has been undertaken by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, over the last three years.
"We are at one of the CNG transport bus stops. So far, about 200 bus stops are under construction across the state to support the operation of the 100 CNG buses already deployed," he said.
According to him, the buses operate daily from morning until evening, conveying passengers free of charge along designated routes.
He explained that one of the major routes, running from Rigachikun through Kawo to Sabon Tasha, serves more than 30 communities, providing residents with easier access to transportation.
He said the transport initiative has saved computers over ₦3.5 billion in transportation costs in one year
Ibrahim said the project was progressing steadily, adding that over 80 per cent of the bus stops had been completed, while the remaining ones would be delivered soon.
He also said the transport system had been fully digitised to enhance operational efficiency and security.
"The buses are equipped with Intelligent Transport System (ITS) devices, making them fully computerised.
"Through our control centre, we can monitor the movement of every vehicle in real time as well as activities taking place at the bus stops for effective management and security purposes," he said.
The KADSTRA boss said the digital monitoring system would improve service delivery, ensure passenger safety and strengthen oversight of the state's public transport network.
He reaffirmed the state's commitment to completing the remaining infrastructure and expanding access to reliable and environmentally friendly transportation for residents.
Ibrahim said the CNG buses would soon begin operation in Zaria and kafanchan, pending the establishment of CNG filling stations in the two locations

Kaduna State is constructing world-class, airport-style bus terminals to revolutionise public transport
The Kaduna State Government says its ultra modern Eastern Terminal, designed like an airport terminal, will transform transportation and create thousands of jobs upon completion.
The Acting General Manager of Kaduna Line and Acting Director General of the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority (KADSTRA), Engr. Inuwa Ibrahim, disclosed this during an inspection of the project.
Ibrahim said the terminal, located in Millennium City, was being constructed on a 20 hectare site by CGC Nigeria Ltd.
He described the facility as the largest ultra modern transport terminal in terms of size and infrastructure in West Africa's sub Saharan region.
According to him, the project features ticketing halls, passenger waiting lounges, multiple terminals, a hotel, restaurants, CNG filling stations, and other modern transport facilities.
"The terminal is being built with airport standard specifications to provide comfort, efficiency and safety for passengers," he said.
He commended CGC Nigeria Ltd. for maintaining high construction standards and delivering quality work despite challenges posed by the rainy season.
According to him, construction commenced about four months ago, with progress already meeting expectations.
"We expect the project to be completed within the next three months for inauguration by Gov. Uba Sani," Ibrahim said.
The Project Manager of CGC Nigeria Ltd., Mr. Ji Zhongyin, said all major structural works had been completed.
Zhongyin said the contractor was currently handling block work, drainage, roads and other external infrastructure.
He added that the remaining stages would involve finishing works, decoration and installation of lifts, escalators and safety equipment.
"The official completion date is the end of November, but we are confident of delivering earlier without compromising quality," he said.
Speaking later during a media tour of ongoing transport projects, Ibrahim said Gov. Uba Sani's administration was overhauling Kaduna's transport system through strategic infrastructure development.
He said the reforms were aimed at improving security, urban planning, passenger convenience and economic growth.
According to him, the government first harmonised illegal motor parks after identifying 51 unauthorised parks along a 24 kilometre corridor between Kawo and Command Junction.
He said the proliferation of illegal parks posed serious security threats and disrupted effective transport regulation.
Ibrahim said the government reopened Mando Motor Park before embarking on construction of new centralised transport terminals across the state.
He said the Kakuri Southern Terminal, inaugurated in December 2025, had reached about 90 per cent completion.
According to him, the terminal will accommodate all transport unions and operators within one centralised facility.
He said the complex includes terminals, shops, hotels, a fire safety centre, filling station and vehicle maintenance centre.
Ibrahim said the Soba Motor Park project had attained about 85 per cent completion.
He explained that the facility would relocate the existing Kawo Motor Park to reduce insecurity and decongest Kaduna metropolis.
According to him, security reports linked criminal activities around the old Kawo Motor Park to several incidents, including the killing of a military officer.
He said the relocation was endorsed by transport unions and other relevant stakeholders.
On the Eastern Terminal, Ibrahim said the project aligned with the Federal Government's Eastern Bypass to divert heavy traffic away from Kaduna city centre.
He said the terminal was expected to handle about 5,000 vehicles daily upon completion.
According to him, the project will generate about 15,000 direct and indirect jobs.
He added that the three major transport terminal projects would collectively create more than 20,000 employment opportunities.

Lere stakeholders commend Gov. Uba Sani over 17km road project
Stakeholders in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State have commended Gov. Uba Sani for the ongoing construction of a 17-kilometre road in the area.
The stakeholders gave the commendation during an inspection of the project alongside government officials and community leaders.
The stakeholders visited the newly constructed schools , government Junior secondary school Udammi and a hospital being constructed by the Kaduna state in kaku kasa community
Chairman of Lere Local Government, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmed, described the project as a major relief for residents and motorists.
Ahmed said the road had previously caused hardship, with commuters spending over two hours to travel a two kilometre stretch.
He said the ongoing construction had significantly reduced travel time and improved access to communities.
The chairman thanked the governor for initiating the project and expressed optimism that it would transform socio-economic activities in the area.
He also prayed that the project will be inaugurated in good time having seen the speed of the ongoing project
Ahmed also appreciated the state government for extending infrastructure development to Lere Local Government.
He pledged the continued support of the people for the administration's development programmes.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, said the inspection was organised to assess the quality and progress of the project.
Buba said the visit reflected the stakeholders' appreciation of the governor's commitment to infrastructure development.
He disclosed that the 17-kilometre road had reached over 85 per cent completion.
According to him, the quality of work executed by the contractor was satisfactory.
The commissioner described the project as the first asphalt road of its length in the Kayarda axis of Lere Local Government.
He said the road would improve transportation, boost economic activities and enhance the living conditions of residents.
Buba added that the governor has iniated about 150 road projects across the 23 local government covering approximately 1,355 kilometre
He said no local government in the state had been left out of the administration's infrastructure development initiatives.
The commissioner also inspected a two storey secondary school under construction in Kaku community.
He said the school, with over 12 classrooms, would address the educational needs of communities that had sought such a facility for more than two decades.
Buba commended the governor for responding to the educational and infrastructural needs of the people.
He reaffirmed the stakeholders' support for the administration's development agenda in Kaduna State.
The community members also expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani, for prioritising the community's development through the construction of the road.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, Prof. Yahaya Sale Ibrahim, said the road project had been widely welcomed by the people because of its historical significance and socio-economic benefits.
Ibrahim said the road was an ancient route, popularly referred to as the Trans Sahara route, through which slaves were transported several decades ago.
He described its reconstruction as a reclamation of history and a major step towards restoring the area's importance.
He added that the secondary school under construction would provide educational opportunities for underserved communities, promote access to quality education and foster unity among the benefiting communities.

Since assuming office on 29 May 2023, our administration has initiated 150 road projects spanning over 1,355 kilometres across the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, with the overwhelming majority already completed. Earlier this year, we commissioned the Audi–Kako, Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru, Dogon Bauchi–Lakiyeyi and Hanwan Yan Goro roads in Zaria. Beyond road infrastructure, we have continued to invest substantially in healthcare, education, agriculture and other critical sectors because our vision extends beyond constructing roads; it is about connecting communities to opportunity, restoring public confidence and building a more prosperous, inclusive and united Kaduna State where no community is left behind.

DECADES AFTER, UBA SANI RESTORES THE HISTORICAL DIGNITY OF KWOI AND HAM KINGDOM

For generations, Kwoi has occupied a unique place in the historical and cultural geography of Kaduna State. Nestled in Jaba Local Government Area, the town is far more than an administrative headquarters. It is the ancestral heartland of the Ham people, custodians of one of Nigeria’s oldest indigenous cultures, and the traditional seat of the Kpop Ham, whose institution remains a powerful symbol of identity, continuity and communal cohesion.
A short distance from Kwoi lies Nok, the archaeological site that introduced the world to the celebrated Nok terracotta sculptures; among the earliest known examples of figurative art in sub-Saharan Africa. Although scholars distinguish the ancient Nok civilisation from the present-day Ham people, the discovery forever linked the area to one of Africa’s greatest archaeological legacies. For centuries, therefore, Kwoi has stood at the intersection of history, culture and agriculture, its fertile lands producing some of Nigeria’s finest ginger while its people continue to preserve traditions that have enriched the country’s diverse cultural mosaic.
Yet, for all its historical importance and economic promise, many residents believed Kwoi had remained on the margins of public investment for decades. Road infrastructure deteriorated, movement became increasingly difficult, especially during the rainy season, and communities often struggled to connect efficiently with markets, healthcare facilities and educational institutions.
It was against this backdrop that the commissioning of the Kwoi Township Roads and the strategic Kwoi–Gora Road assumed significance beyond the inauguration of physical infrastructure. For many residents, the occasion represented an important milestone in the town’s development and an opportunity to reconnect a historically significant community to wider economic and social networks.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, described the projects as “far more than completed infrastructure,” characterising them as “enduring symbols of our resolve to ensure that no community is excluded from the dividends of democratic governance.”
The projects include: the Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road, Kpop Ham Palace Road and the Kwoi–Gora Road, all designed to improve mobility within Kwoi and strengthen connectivity across Jaba Local Government Area.
The governor recalled that when he visited Kwoi for the groundbreaking ceremony, he had publicly committed to completing the roads.
“When I stood before you at the groundbreaking ceremony,” he said, “I assured you that our intervention would not be another promise deferred but a solemn commitment that would be honoured. Today, by the grace of God and through the dedication of our team, we have returned to redeem that pledge. Nothing strengthens the bond between a government and its people more than promises fulfilled.”
That statement resonated with many residents who viewed the completion of the roads as the fulfilment of a commitment rather than merely another government project.
Beyond symbolism, the roads address practical challenges that had constrained development for years. The Hospital Road improves access to healthcare facilities and emergency services. The township roads facilitate movement within Kwoi’s commercial districts, while the Kpop Ham Palace Road enhances access to one of Southern Kaduna’s most respected traditional institutions. The Kwoi–Gora Road reconnects communities that had long endured difficult travel conditions, particularly during the rainy season.
The governor noted that the corridor had become synonymous with hardship, explaining that erosion and poor road conditions had isolated communities, increased transportation costs and limited access to essential public services.
