Iām trying very hard not to call you a moron because Iām in a good mood today.
In 2025, Nigerās military government ordered three senior Chinese oil executives linked to CNPC, the SORAZ joint-venture refinery, and the West African Oil Pipeline Company to leave the country within 48 hours. They left as ordered. No coup, no regime change, no destabilisation campaign.
There are other cases of Chinese businesses being expelled or pushed out of countries across the Global South, not just in Africa, and the Chinese have often simply taken the loss and moved on. Can you say the same about your European and American colonial masters?
And while weāre at it, I want you to prove me wrong. Show me a record of Chinese loans or infrastructure deals that are demonstrably worse than comparable Western deals. Iām genuinely open to being corrected, but I want evidence, not recycled talking points about debt traps. From what Iāve seen, Chinese financing often comes with more attractive terms than people care to acknowledge, even if the conditions vary considerably from one deal to another.
You claim the CPC is more brutal than its Western counterparts. On what material basis? What exactly are we comparing? Colonial massacres, imperialist wars, regime-change operations, and the exploitation of entire continents, or are we pretending Western history began yesterday?
So far, what China has largely done in Africa is compete for influence by offering infrastructure, financing, and commercial partnerships. Weāre in the courting phase of this relationship, and the Chinese have every incentive to demonstrate that they can offer African countries a better deal than the West.
Where Chinese businesses exploit workers, disregard local interests, or behave badly, criticise them. Nobody is asking you to give China a free pass. But letās not pretend that these problems emerged in a vacuum. Decades of Western domination have left many African countries negotiating from positions of weakness, with institutions too compromised to protect their own citizens effectively. Chinese businesses can exploit those weaknesses, too, and some clearly do.
My point is that even Chinaās shortcomings need to be assessed against the actual historical and economic context, not some fantasy in which Western powers are the gold standard for responsible foreign engagement.
You want to argue that China is worse? Fine. Bring the evidence, compare the actual terms and consequences, and make your case. I'll wait.
She's not being disrespectful in any way.
He brought his family affair to the public, she saw it, she got impressed and she expressed her desire to have such treatment from him.
She asked for something halal.
You clowns are now mad.
Why?
Idk, the French overreacted when they executed Marie Antoinette for supposedly saying, āLet them eat cake.ā Saying, If youāre poor, āsell kuli-kuli,ā is 100Ć worse.
āTo start Akara business doesn't take a lot of money. To start roasting corn and kuli-kuli doesn't take much. We didn't give them a loan, we gave them a grant. We have encouraged Nigerians as best as we could.ā
- First Lady Remi Tinubu
What the US and Israel are doing in Iran and Lebanon is depraved beyond imagination. Assassinating scientists, journalists and medics, bombing schools, universities and hospitals, attempting to destroy society itself... we are staring evil in the face.
The UK spends roughly Ā£6 million per day, around Ā£2 billion a year on hotel accommodations for āfailed asylum seekers.ā That is the responsibility they now want to hand over to Nigeria after praising Nigerian jollof.
This same offer was made to Afghanistan, Eritrea, Sudan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, etc, and they all rejected.
Now, out the £2b a year the UK will be saving from this deal, they offered Nigeria £746 million to refurbish two ports in Lagos.
As part of the agreement, nearly half of the £746 million will go to British firms in supplier contracts.
The British steel industry, which the Uk government admitted was suffering, will use this opportunity to rejuvenate.
When the ports are done, the UK will control Nigeriaās exports until that money is paid back. Yes, itās a loan.
This is what Tinubu, his wife, son and Tiwa Savage have gone to negotiate for Nigeria.
Threatening Niger with invasion at the behest of The west because they overthrew a government that wasnāt serving them.
Inviting foreign troops into the country under the guise of fighting terrorism, same country that was denying us arms to fight terrorists a short while ago.
I think at some level, thereās no biggest except weāre talking about the largest. People usually assume US and Israel willingness to be ruthless as being superior.
Military capability and military employment are not the same thing.
Ruthlessness is not evenly distributed across military because it is a political decision, not a technical one. Many states possess the capacity to inflict comparable or even greater levels of destruction, but their foreign policy constraints, domestic legitimacy concerns, and long term strategic calculations restrain them. Reputation in warfare is therefore shaped more by willingness than by capability.
Russia makes this obvious. The narrative that the Russian military is weak is something I take as false. Russia retains the capacity to degrade Ukraine far more severely than it has done so far. If Moscowās objective were large scale urban leveling or territorial annihilation similar to past US in Fallujah or Israeli campaigns, the means exist.
What restrains Russia is political calculation, escalation management, international optics, internal legitimacy, and most importantly it sees some of these people in those territory as Russians.
This same logic is why a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would be strategically reckless if not accompanied by an annihilation doctrine.
China would fall into a prolonged, grinding conflict similar to Russiaās experience if its objective is reunification rather than destruction.
Beijing considers Taiwanese populations as Chinese. That alone imposes operational restraint.
The US has never fought enemies it considers culturally or civilizationally similar. Israel has not fought an enemy that fully shares its national identity. In such wars, annihilation or near total destruction becomes politically easier to justify.
China does not have this with Taiwan. Any attempt to preserve infrastructure, population, and economic value would dramatically slow operations and expose Chinese weakness rather than strength.
If China were to move on Taiwan tomorrow under a constrained doctrine, it would likely be perceived as another major power trapped in a long war. Perception matters. Strength is not judged by intent but by outcome. A fast decisive campaign projects power. A prolonged war makes you feel weak
Projection of power also does not equate to being the strongest. Different states build forces around different doctrines. The US maintains an extremely large military designed for global projection, expeditionary warfare, and sustained overseas operations. This does not automatically translate into dominance against a state whose doctrine is defensive and denial based.
Chinaās military doctrine is fundamentally defensive in orientation. Its training, force structure, and weapons development are focused on neutralizing the primary instruments of US power projection, particularly aircraft carriers, logistics chains, and forward bases. Anti access and area denial is not about fighting everywhere. It is about making entry prohibitively costly.
The US may be capable of projecting force globally, but projection does not guarantee deterrence against a state that has fully committed to territorial defense. Deterrence fails when projection meets denial and political will favors endurance over dominance.
Let use Nigeria to support this. size does not equal capability. During the Biafra war, less than 700 Biafran soldiers destroyed Nigeriaās 2div, leading tot the death of over 5,000 soldiers. It was doctrine, terrain exploitation, morale, and tactical coherence.
The own view is this. Strongest is not raw size. What America enjoys is a reputation that its political system allows. Not everyone wants to go into another country and be destructive.
I understand the Tax policies very well and I believe itās necessary.
But residents who contribute to buy community transformers and the wiring materials - which part of tax are we going to record those kind of things ?
Israel just murdered Prime Minister of Yemen and their entire cabinet. If anyone had done this to Israeli Prime Minister and Cabinet, they'd be considered by Western media as the worst terrorists in the world. So, what does that make Israel? They're obviously a terrorist state.
Bandits will kill hundreds of Nigerians and nothing will be said. But the moment security forces manage to kill 1 or 2 bandits, you start hearing endless praises for NSA and co. This country ehn
