Potemkin Party minions and war mongers seem unduly exhilarated by the purchase of 12 Su-35 jet fighters from Russia.
They believe, in the ominous words of their leaders, that this will indeed enhance the regime's capability for its "pre-emptive" war of aggression; oblivious to the legal and security quagmire that this will entail and the lessons from yesterday's history.
The Potemkin Party has indulged in a massive weapons purchase spree for a long time now as the link below demonstrates.
But massive re-armament will neither advance the PP's declared agenda of regional destabilization nor alleviate the dire sufferings of almost 70% of the Ethiopian population who live under abject poverty, classified as "multidimensionally poor" in accordance with standard economic metrics.
The country is also suffering from mushrooming internal chaos and spiraling strife - the upheaval in Moyale is the latest in the string of entrenched inter-communal conflicts - which stem from a dysfunctional governance architecture.
The Potemkin Party has got all its priorities wrong and, by all accounts, it will neither listen to the voices of reason nor retreat from the perilous path that it has chosen to tread.

President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation were accorded warm welcome on their arrival in Moscow in the mid-morning hours today.
The President and his delegation will participate at the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit and hold bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart.
This is, by far, the clearest and most fitting response to Abiy Ahmed’s warmongering.
A message that leaves absolutely no room for misinterpretation.
#Eritrea ♥️ 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
When Eritreans try to put some sense into Abiy Ahmed’s herd and the message still refuses to get through, well, sometimes you just have to switch to a language they finally understand. 😂
President Isaias Afwerki departed to Moscow in the early morning hours today to participate in the Third Russia-Africa Summit that will be convened from 28-29th October this week.
Main themes of the Summit include cooperation in the economic, investment, trade, energy, food security, agricultural and security sectors.
President Isaias will also held a meeting with President Vladimir Putin to discuss the strengthening of bilateral ties as well as other matters of mutual importance.
Presidential delegation includes Foreign Minister Osman Saleh.
There is no good faith dispute between #Eritrea and #Ethiopia . The tensions stems from and is fully predicated on Ethiopia’s unprovoked and declared policy of aggression against Eritrea. #UN#AU

Dear @SecRubio & @EUSR_Weber, the government in #Ethiopia has just conducted a public gathering yesterday in #Tigray. As you can see the slogan behind (2 pictures behind), it stated “our borders are the Red Sea). In this gathering, government cadres presented were organizing the people for the next war with #Eritrea. This is what is going on inside Ethiopia. This is what the government in #AddisAbeba is doing while trying to be diplomatic to the international community.

The situation in #Ethiopia requires urgent international attention. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the central government has repeatedly failed to control devastating civil conflict and rising ethnic tensions across the region.
Rather than addressing the severe internal instability and prioritizing the safety of citizens, PM Abiy Ahmed has engaged in unnecessary rhetoric targeting neighbouring Eritrea—a country that stands as a model of peace and stability in the Horn of #Africa .
The international community cannot remain silent. The @UN must intervene and send peacekeepers to Ethiopia to bring stability and safeguard human rights. @SecRubio

WASHINGTON, D.C. ― Mr. Berhane G. Solomon, Eritrea’s Chargé d’Affaires in Washington, received H.E. Mohamed Hamdy El-Molla, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United States, at his office.
The two diplomats held productive discussions on the excellent bilateral relations between #Eritrea and #Egypt, as well as developments across the Red Sea Basin and the Horn of Africa.
They emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation to advance shared interests and common objectives.
Both sides also agreed to enhance coordination and joint efforts to deepen engagement with relevant U.S. government officials, lawmakers, and other stakeholders, while encouraging constructive dialogue and supporting efforts to promote peace and stability across the region.
Held discussions with H.E. Mr. Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of #China to the @UN. In addition to UN80 processes, elections, we discussed recent developments in the #Horn of #Africa and the importance of sober, objective analysis grounded in facts and an appreciation of the region’s complex historical and political realities.
On #Eritrea–#Ethiopia relations, explained that the Government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has pursued a three-year-long campaign targeting the State of #Eritrea, its Government and institutions. This has been accompanied by an increasingly aggressive campaign to claim and annex the #Eritrean port of #Assab, exploiting fabricated historical connections and disseminating misinformation and disinformation to inflame nationalist sentiment and galvanize public opinion in #Ethiopia.
Underscored that, despite persistent threats of force and explicit declarations of war by #Ethiopian leaders, #Eritrea has exercised maximum restraint and refused to be drawn into an escalation fuelled by provocative rhetoric and threats.
Further stressed the responsibility of an international community that has extended diplomatic, financial and political support to the #Ethiopian Government, often shielding it from meaningful scrutiny and accountability.
I also highlighted #Ethiopia’s decision to sever diplomatic relations with #Eritrea and expel #Eritrea|n diplomats, including those accredited to the @_AfricanUnion and the @UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
Such support must not embolden the dangerous illusion that political objectives can be pursued through force, whether against neighbouring states or #Ethiopia|s own people. Such an approach is neither sustainable nor conducive to peace. It rewards brinkmanship, emboldens further provocations and weakens the deterrent effect of the @UN Charter's prohibition on the threat or use of force.
It also sends a deeply troubling message to other states: that compliance with international law is expected of some, while others may enjoy exceptional treatment because of their strategic value or political relationships...
Our Ambassador to the UN Office, Sophia Tesfamariam, counterattacks and exposes Ethiopia's cheap smear campaign and expansion plan to wage war against the state of Eritrea.
Proud of you madam
A luta continua
