DAY 8
Still Alive, though not kicking….
Some 7,000 people gathered at Jantar Mantar today from morning to evening. Leaders of various social and political movements spoke in support. A clear indication of how effective this movement is can be judged from the number of trolls in the comments below. Over the years I’ve seen that this number is directly proportional to the impact. I’ll be so sad & dejected the day they go missing. Thank you, my success-o-meter, for your hard work.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee says, "As the AITC Chairperson, I announce that from today, I will also assume the role of the West Bengal state TMC President. Two more individuals—Madan Mitra and Kunal Ghosh—have been inducted into the party committee. Both have been appointed as General Secretaries of this committee."

VIDEO | Kolkata: TMC chief Mamata Banerjee says, "I extend my solidarity, salute, congratulations, and best wishes to ordinary people, grassroots workers, and those from the original All India Trinamool Congress who are still with the party and have not betrayed it by seeking shelter in the BJP. For the past few days, you may have noticed that my party colleagues and spokespersons have been speaking, but I have spoken very little. The reason is that sometimes I feel silence speaks the loudest... I saw that the BJP came to power by rigging votes. We all know this. They manipulated the EVMs, stole votes, and manipulated the counting process... Such terror has begun that those who support us, those who stand with us, our workers, thousands of them, are being targeted in broad daylight, even when there are no valid cases against them and without court orders..."

For 12 days, in 45°C heat, the young activists of the Cockroach Janata Party have been sitting in protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Repeated examination leaks and exam messes have pushed youth to the brink of despair and agony. 14 have lost their lives. Yet a callous @narendramodi government is ignoring them because it just does not care. I will be joining the Jantar Mantar protest this evening.

🇮🇷 Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei's latest statement in full:
"In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful, I extend my condolences to the entire Iranian nation and the Islamic ummah on the days of grief for the Household of God and the martyrdom of His Holiness, the Avenger of God, may God’s peace and blessings be upon him and upon them all, and his loyal companions.
The Husayni uprising and movement, aimed at upholding the truth, reforming the ummah, and confronting oppression and tyranny, stands as the towering peak in history’s clash between right and falsehood, justice and injustice, and it offers invaluable and unforgettable lessons for all the world’s free people.
The blood of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, is called the blood of God, which courses through the veins of the world and forges life-giving epics.
The Islamic Revolution and movement of Iran, being a branch drawn from this very luminous source, must always strive to attain the goals of the Husayni uprising.
July 7 each year recalls the towering figure of the Revolution and that individual who, upon taking the helm of the judiciary, pursued tireless efforts in this direction until he and a group of the Revolution’s devoted companions drank the cup of martyrdom, and the oppression he and the seventy-two martyrs with him endured became a confirmation of the Husayni essence of this system and its architects.
The dignity of the judiciary in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s system lies in safeguarding the people’s rights, reviving public rights and legitimate freedoms, combating corruption, implementing justice, upholding divine limits, and overseeing the enforcement of the law.
The fruit of success in this path, beyond earning divine satisfaction, will be strengthening the people’s trust in this pillar of the system. The legitimate expectation of all branches, institutions, and responsible bodies is that they continually calibrate and reorganize their performance against the standards of the sacred Islamic Republic system and the noble dignity of the nation.
In this regard, the judiciary holds a position unparalleled—and indeed matchless—in reforming processes and mobilizing other sectors of the system, which in turn requires pursuing reform and reconstruction within the judiciary itself.
The public expectation now is to witness practical emphasis on this matter in the judiciary’s performance.
In such a way that judicial transformation moves from words inscribed in transformation documents, plans, and roadmaps into reality, and its manifestations become evident in all relevant arenas—from the rooms of judicial complexes and court sessions to public environments and the social sphere—so that people observe its positive effects in their daily lives through resolute confrontation with all forms of corruption, reduced violation of rights, faster adjudication, enhanced integrity and precision in judges’ rulings, and easier access to indicators of justice.
In this vision of the judiciary, the implementation of justice must reach a level where every oppressed person sees it as their refuge, and especially those who hold some form of power dare not infringe on others’ rights, the door to favoritism and recommendations is entirely sealed shut, and having connections in its various sections provides no advantage whatsoever.
Of course, upholding the nation’s rights is not limited to individual matters; various public and social rights—from the right to economic security and equitable access to opportunities to the right to fair enjoyment of natural resources, a healthy environment, legitimate freedoms, and efficient governance—are also counted among the important issues in expanding justice.
Among them, one of the most critical legal and judicial issues concerning the entire Iranian nation at this juncture is pursuing and upholding the rights violated due to the crimes of international criminals, oppressors, and global aggressors, especially in the years 1404 and 1405.
From the blood of the innocent martyrs of the second and third imposed wars to the physical, spiritual, material, and moral damages inflicted on our dear country and every individual of the oppressed Iranian nation, whether inside or even outside the country; from the unprecedented child killings and war crimes in Minab and Lamerd to attacks on medical and service centers; from the slaughter of newborns just days old to dear elders; and at the forefront of them all, the martyrdom of that matchless figure, that peerless jewel and unique of his era, the great mujahid leader—may God Almighty exalt his sacred station—each forms a file comprising hundreds, if not thousands, of vital legal cases that must be pursued with utmost seriousness in domestic and international courts.
What is certain is that the criminals’ collars must be seized, and they must be brought to justice for their criminal acts.
An important point in this matter is, first, the confessions—and even the brazen pride—of some American and Zionist enemy leaders in these crimes, which undoubtedly constitute an admission of guilt and suitably pave the way for upholding the violated rights of the nation.
Second, the prerequisite for attention and commitment to implementing the martyred Leader of the Revolution’s directive in his last meeting with judicial officials last July regarding the prosecution of crimes committed in the second imposed war is to extend it to the third imposed war and pursue it relentlessly until a verdict is obtained and its execution is assigned to competent authorities.
This action, in turn, will prevent the repetition of such crimes.
Of course, for success in the path of comprehensive judicial transformation and greater speed in achieving the stated goals, various provisions and requirements are needed, most of which have been repeatedly expressed in the annual meetings with judicial officials and in the detailed recommendations and emphases of the great martyred leader—may God sanctify his pure soul—and giving them serious attention and striving to realize them, which is the key to the success of the esteemed officials of the judiciary, is a matter of serious emphasis and demand on my part.
The path to justice and combating oppression and corruption is a difficult one that will be smoothed by sincerity and reliance on God, upholding piety at the highest level, serious motivation and resolve, redoubled effort and determination, courage and decisiveness, initiative, and proper utilization of modern technologies and intelligent systems.
The realization of all this, God willing, and under the auspices of His Holiness, the Awaited Justice—our master, may God hasten his glorious advent—will be facilitated, God willing."
