Goldie Ghamari has exposed a level of ignorance that would be comical if it were not so reckless. She claimed 7yrs in Canadian politics yet cannot grasp even the simplest realities of Nigeria. And let us not pretend we do not know who we are talking about. This is the same Goldie who was removed from Doug Ford’s Conservative caucus for her Islamophobic behaviour. This is the same person whose licence to practise law was suspended by the Law Society of Ontario because of professional misconduct and alleged corruption with her client.
Her claims about Nigeria are fuelled by the same pattern of hostility and distortion that marked her past comments about Muslims. Her public record shows a consistent habit of stoking fear and division, and now she has simply shifted her attention to Nigeria because it fits her familiar script. She is a discarded politician whose relevance now comes from manufacturing outrage. She thrives on bigotry because it is the only space where she still finds an audience. She lost credibility in Canada and she has absolutely none when speaking about Nigeria.
