Had a very beautiful experience in Hyderabad during the Dhrupad workshop organised by CBH & @DhrupadF
Sharing Nāda, breath, and silence with such sincere participants was truly heartwarming. Grateful for the energy, openness, and deep listening present throughout the session.
The values and संस्कार of Dhrupad inspire children, youth, and elders alike, teaching concentration, patience, inner harmony, and the art of living.
Come, connect with this ancient tradition of sound, experience the power of Nāda, and discover the deeper journey within yourself.
Dhrupad is regarded as the mother of Indian classical music and is often called Vedic music.
It is not merely a musical tradition, but a profound practice that brings balance, peace, awareness, and discipline into life.

For the first time, tribal students experienced Deva Vani Dhrupad at Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram.
As they chanted the Deva Vani, their minds grew still…
focus deepened…
and a natural tranquility emerged.
This is the power of Nāda Yoga sound leading to silence. @DhrupadF

@ShiningScience These techniques unite body, mind, and consciousness through sound. I have been researching and teaching this tradition for many years and it continues to reveal profound benefits for both music and well-being.
Hari Om.
@ShiningScience Wonderful to see science validating the power of singing.
In Dhrupad, the most ancient form of Indian classical music, singing is practiced as a scientific discipline of breath, vibration, and meditation, rooted in the philosophy of Naad Yoga.

New research reveals that the act of singing can skyrocket immune-boosting antibodies by up to 240% in just one hour.
Recent scientific studies reveal that singing is a biological powerhouse that significantly strengthens the immune system. Specifically, vocalizing triggers a rapid increase in Immunoglobulin A (sIgA), a crucial antibody that protects the mouth, throat, and gut from infection. Research involving choir members has shown that active singing can cause these immune markers to spike by as much as 240% within a single hour. Crucially, the benefit requires active participation; while listening to music offers emotional perks, the physical act of singing produces a far more immediate and substantial surge in antibody levels.
Beyond the chemical boost, singing functions as physical medicine by activating the vagus nerve to calm the body. This process reduces cortisol, the primary stress hormone, and balances the immune response. These findings are remarkably inclusive, showing measurable improvements in everyone from casual singers to cancer patients and their caregivers. Regardless of technical skill or training, the simple act of raising your voice provides a universal tool for enhancing resilience and health.

Dhrupad comes from two Sanskrit roots:
“Dhruva” that which is constant, eternal
“Pada” a verse or sacred line
Dhrupad therefore means a constant, unchanging verse.
This is the essence of Deva Vani Dhrupad where sound becomes prayer.
Today at 6:30 PM I’ll be performing at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kendra, BBSR.
I invite all music lovers to join us for a soulful evening of Dhrupad, one of the most profound forms of Hindustani classical music.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
