Shonisani Lethole became a victim to the criminal syndicates that crippled Thembisa Hospital. He starved to death. Shonosani had been admitted to Thembisa Hospital during the Covid Pandemic. He tweeted then Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize that he hadn't in 48 hours. A few hours later, he died.
His tweet is still up. Link in the comments

I can’t help but think about Shonisani Lethole who died from literal hunger at Tembisa Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The President of the republic’s nephew Hangwani Maumela was using state funds to buy Lamborghinis while Mr Lethole literally starved to death.

Human Rights Day isn’t a celebration, it’s a reminder that apartheid wasn’t a misunderstanding, it was a crime.
That racism didn’t end in 1994, it evolved.
That too many still downplay the violence that built this country’s inequalities.
Our silence condemns us.
Speak up.
Human Rights Day in South Africa is historically linked with 21 March 1960, and the events of Sharpeville.
On that day 69 people died and 180 were wounded when police fired on a peaceful crowd that had gathered in protest against the pass laws.
This day marked an affirmation by ordinary people, rising in unison to proclaim their rights. It became an iconic date in our country’s history that today we commemorate as Human Rights Day as a reminder of our rights and the cost paid for our treasured human rights.
