I am a mum of 4 kids who loves to read. I love to read to my kids, with my kids and by myself. Please recommend some books to me and I will share mine too.
We are a reading family. The kids love reading, I love reading and the husband loves reading. Sadly, the husband reads terrible books with violence and other nasty things in them. Myself and the kids read for pleasure and the acquisition of knowledge. Love reading guys.
Soon I and all the rest of our Elf On The Shelf, ride with the reindeer to your world so we can populate your shelves. We are not spying on the kids, we are protecting your trees from an evil Ice Elf called Neese. Washing my traditional elf clothes now. Normally wear jeans.
What book should I ask for this Christmas? Given up on my husband getting me decent perfume or jewellery. I think I might even have to tell him what book to buy. Last year he got me The Hunger Games, not noticing the copy on the bookshelf. Should I tell him what to get this year?
@mum_reads I'm glad you like our story. I hope your elf and your family love it too. And we don't spy on kids. We visit so kids can have fun with us, and we are protecting the Christmas trees from a sad Ice Elf called Neese. We hope to save him too, if we can. But he is an angry elf.
Elf On A Shelf returning. Got 'Elves On The Shelf: Santa's Secret Spies.' It's a novel about the elf on the shelf, but the elves don't spy on kids. They are trying to stop an evil Ice Elf from burning Christmas trees. It has a lovely moral message in the end. Present from our elf
I am reading Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. My daughter is reading The Famous Five: Five Go To Smugglers' Top by Enid Blyton. My husband is reading Road End Hooligans by Rob Randles. My son is finally reading a book. The Fightmare by Martyn Maguire. Last days of summer = read.
My son is finally reading a book, my daughter lost a tooth and my husband actually did some DIY. A great day of achievements so far, maybe I'll actually finish The Unbearable Lightness Of Being by Milan Kundera.
@MissMac_English@Team_English1 The Fightmare by Martyn Maguire. My boy is reading it now and loving it. Another mum from school recommended it to me. We got it on Kindle and he is flying through.
I recommend all of the books by @valmcdermid to other reading mothers. Her work is a great source of pleasure and escape from life's downs (and kids' moans). Her stories and characters regularly provide me with good company (better than my husband). Thank you Miss McDermid.
@BookClubBoys@kickstarter My son doesn't read and I am trying everything. He is 10. One issue may be that there seem to be very few male Children's book agents in the UK. Are there any truly masculine writers making it these days? My son is a boys' boy.
