Vernika Dunbar, 38, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her sister, 29-year-old reality TV personality Mackayla “Kash” Paige, following a sh**ting around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, in downtown Oakland near 14th and Harrison streets. Police allege Dunbar tried to intervene in a fight between Kash and another woman by grabbing a handg*n and attempting to pistol-whip the other woman, but the weapon discharged, striking Kash in the head. Kash was taken to a hospital, where she d**d. Alameda County prosecutors filed charges on October 13, including assault with a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public and brandishing a firearm in public. Authorities have not disclosed what sparked the fight. Kash was known for appearances on shows including Real West Coast Baddies, Room H8z and Young & Reckless, and streaming network Now That’s TV paid tribute following her death. The case remains under investigation, and the charges are allegations, not a conviction. 🕊️💔
