Charity providing counselling for women experiencing mental health or emotional difficulties during pregnancy or postnatally #PND#Postnatal#PMH#mentalhealth
We were pleased to enjoy a visit from the Greenwich Mayor, Cllr Linda Bird, who came to see us in our new office at The Forum Greenwich.
Excited to be starting this new chapter in our home borough @Royal_Greenwich.
Our Young Mum's Group is a special space, with group leaders Kelly and Lucy creating a warm and welcoming environment and the mums getting stuck in!
If you or someone that you know would benefit from connecting with other mums and receiving support from our fantastic team, please get in touch.

Huge thanks to our consistent supporters, The Leathersellers, for the beautiful images, taken earlier this month in honour of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week.
π WE'VE MOVED π
After 13 years at Blackheath Standard, we are delighted to have moved into The Forum at Greenwich, making space for our growing, hardworking team.
Thank you to our fantastic team who put in a shift to get everything moved over, and special thanks to Sophie for all the logistical work which has gone into making the process smooth and successful.
Thanks also to Blackheath House Clearance and Movers, a local company that did a brilliant job.
It is both worrying and fascinating to see the same issue echoed in Australia as we face here in the UK.
The statistics never fail to be shocking.

"The cultural shift matters deeply...stigma costs lives. Reducing it saves them."
We were grateful to hear from Dr Miriam Donaghy, our CEO and Founder, on the changes she has seen in maternal mental health care over the last 10 years, since Maternal Mental Health Week came into being.
Miriam has worked in this area for over 25 years, and her depth of knowledge and experience provides some fascinating insights.

Because support that puts you at the centre DOES exist π
Humaira is one of our wonderful group facilitators, who works with both our Akwaaba group, for global majority and black mums and our Mighty Acorns group, for mums with children who have a disability or complex medical needs.
The principles that she is talking about - empowering mums and treating care as a collaboration between mums and professionals - run through all of our work.
Many statutory services are deeply stretched and do not have the capacity to provide care in this way, and that is why our work, and the work of other brilliant, community-based organisations like us, is so necessary. π
If you are able, please support our work. This week, we are running a raffle, meaning that you can support mums AND be in with a chance of winning one of our brilliant prizes. π Check out the linkπto browse prizes, including a make-up hamper worth Β£500, a 3hr professional organisation session from Chaos Calmed and an afternoon tea at DoubleTree by Hilton.

With huge thanks to the lovely Mado for sharing her story. π
Mado attends our Greenwich-based 'Akwaaba' group for global majority and Black mums, and has found real benefit in the community and support there. She was kind enough to sit down with us and share her lived experience of the birth of her second child.
It is widely acknowledged in the mental health field that connection, especially with others who share and understand your experience, is hugely beneficial. π

As a small, locally-focused charity, our volunteers are an essential part of our make-up.
The work that they do makes our service richer and helps us to reach more Mums, with our communications, in our services and more.
If you want to become part of this wonderful team, please check out the volunteer roles which we are currently looking to fill.

Some action shots of our awesome volunteer, Karl, who generously donated his time and expertise to come and take some beautiful pictures of our Akwaaba Mums.
It was a fantastic session with lots of smiles, connection and of course...snacks! π₯ͺ
We can't wait to share the pictures - thanks to the Mums who came along and got involved. π

Parenting siblings can be a tricky business, but it also comes with its own beautiful moments of connection and joy π
We also want to use today to signpost to Sibs Charity, the only UK charity supporting people who grow up with a disabled sibling. They also offer resources for parents and professionals, so do check them out if you work or live with a disabled little one.
