However much we give you informed consent before surgery, it’s common knowledge that you’ll never fully understand everything like a medic would.
The subject matter is complex. The human body is complex. So, basics are given:
For example, in eye surgery, we always try to explain the following risks but it never comes out as clearly as we want to someone who has not done medicine:
1. Risk of infections
2. Risk of posterior capsular tear
3. Risk of the eye ball getting pierced during anesthesia
4. Risk of bleeding excessively
5. Risk of zonular dialysis
6. Risk of iris tear
7. Risk of lens/IOL drop
8. Risk of expulsive choroidal hemorrhage
9. Risk of cardiac arrest from anesthesia
Etc… the list is long.
Also, There are things that happen in theatre that leaves everyone confused. You wonder why you even started the surgery in the first place.
Sometimes you wonder why you chose medicine.
But there are also mistakes that happen in theatre that costs lives. Unfortunately, when life is gone, it is gone.
Are measures taken to avoid mistakes, risks and complications? Definitely
🚨🚨 𝐑𝐢𝐨 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐀𝐑:
“Since when did this game get so biased?
For the first goal, Calvert-Lewin doesn’t even try to head it. He uses his hand on Yoro, Yoro misheads it, they score. No review.
Then with Martinez, both go for the ball. Play continues, no one reacts… but someone is checking it for a red.
At this point, it’s United against them.
Even if United score… you feel like they’ll find a way to rule it out.”
Do you agree with Rio Ferdinand?
Paul Tierney and Premier League officiating as a WHOLE is an absolute joke.
No accountability. No consistency. No sense.
Ruining the game and will never be punished.
Ever. 😑
🎙️ Nemanja Vidić on Lisandro Martínez red card vs Leeds United
“During my time, we called it dueling. Today’s football calls it violent conduct. Football has gone so soft, especially in the Premier League.
I wonder why Calvert-Lewin wasn’t booked for holding the player’s face as well. I was very disappointed with that referee’s decision.”
🎙️ Roy Keane on Lisandro Martínez’s red card:
Both players were grappling in the air. He pulled his hand away as soon as he realized it was on the hair. If that’s a red, the game’s gone soft. Meanwhile, clear fouls on United players were ignored Casemiro and mazraoui I don’t know why.
🚨 Bruno Fernandes: “The rules are different for everyone, applied different for everyone”.
“The difference in the yellow cards, you can also see it. It's better that I don't say anything”.
