@HuntQuinn I think freedom of information is the strongest justification. You wouldn't want aggressive marketing on your lawn, why allow it on your screen? The counter is that people may want tailored content, but that should be an option, not the default.

Maybe the grade system teaches students to lift the heaviest weights from day one, when real growth comes from consistent and manageable "workouts". The traditional exam is a one rep max that means very little...

Priorities, priorities, priorities. Medical education is about priorities. We learners have to decide what information is pertinent to us and our patients, so that we retain something of value. There are thousands of us-- collectively we'll learn everything there is to know.

Public training for handling mental health crises is surprisingly poor-- Standard First Aid offered by the Red Cross @RedCrossTalk limits the scope to suicide attempts, and doesn't even adequately address how to respond to them. Still waiting on the move towards phys+mental care.
