@hacktheboxkenya Great session! Kuddos to Faith! Thanks for breaking down cloud security concepts into practical, real-world examples. Definitely walked away with a better understanding of securing cloud environments.
A year ago I built Maze Connect during my #100DaysOfCode challenge as an Android app for discovering tech events. I'm rebuilding it.
The goal isn't just to polish the UI this time; it's to turn it into a platform while learning more about backend, cloud
One thing I’ve noticed in STEM & tech spaces:
A lot of students and early-career professionals don’t lack ambition, they lack exposure.
Exposure to:
•communities, mentors, hackathons, real projects, emerging career paths and industry conversations
Because you can’t pursue what you’ve never seen!
I wrote a short piece on why I think exposure is one of the most overlooked factors shaping STEM careers today.
Some say necessity is the mother of invention. I’d argue exposure plays a huge role too.
The many career pathways available across tech and engineering
One thing I emphasized: learning shouldn’t stop at university. Communities, certifications, hackathons, mentorship & curiosity all matter.
Grateful to everyone who attended

BONUS
There are way more than 3 ways to find opportunities.
I broke down 10+ platforms, job boards, and strategies (incl. cold emailing + avoiding unpaid roles)

2. Company career pages > job boards
Many companies post internships quietly under:
Students | Early Talent | Graduate Programs
My method?
I list companies in a notebook + check them daily (incognito mode 😅)
3. Government roles are underrated
Paid attachments + strong CV value.
If your goal in 2026 is to land an internship or industrial attachment, read this...
Opportunities exist—but they’re scattered, poorly advertised, and easy to miss.
Here are 3 hacks that actually work
1. LinkedIn, Search: Internship | Industrial Attachment | Graduate Trainee.
Here’s what I’d tell myself after one year out of graduation: focus on depth, consistency & real-world impact.
I shared my lessons + resources for fresh grads & early career devs:

Looking back, 2025 was full of learning and building. I dove deep into #JetpackCompose, #Flutter & #ReactNative, built systems I’m proud of, joined hackathons, and pushed commits daily. Grateful for the journey! #MobileApp
The opening of the Wangari Maathai Hackathon set a powerful tone; one where innovation, sustainability, and community truly intersect. 🌍
I’m excited to do my little thing with my hackathon team 🌿Grateful to be part of this journey by @GreenBeltMovmnt#WangariMaathaiHackathon
Attending #DevFestNairobi2024 at the Jamuhuri Showgrounds was an incredible experience! As my first DevFest, I was thrilled to dive into the sessions such as DSA by Google and connecting with fellow tech enthusiasts. #DevFestNairobi#GeminiAI#DevFest2024 Cant wait for 2025!!
