First Lady @sajidhaamohamed attends the opening ceremony of the 7th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium, held under the theme ‘From Detection to Recovery: Optimising Breast Cancer Care’.
The symposium brings together healthcare professionals to discuss ways to strengthen breast cancer care, from early detection and diagnosis, through treatment and recovery.
The #ProjectBaukalo Team, which includes the Ministry, NGOs, veterinary clinics and other key stakeholders met today to finalize the governance structure and establish focused working groups.
Planning is now underway for activities beginning this month, starting with practical actions such as the completion of ongoing rectification and upgrading work of Olhu Hiya Cat Shelter, improving the cleanliness of public spaces, promoting responsible feeding and waste management and establishing of cat-safe parks.
This is the beginning of a coordinated effort to create a safer, cleaner and more compassionate community for people, animals and the environment and will be part of a broader effort covering humane population management, animal welfare, awareness, road safety and capacity building.
State Minister @AnthuSH attended the opening ceremony of the two day workshop on “Enhancing Emergency Preparedness and Response for Animal Health Emergencies.”
The workshop brings together 24 participants from relevant government and partner organizations to strengthen knowledge, coordination and preparedness for animal health emergencies, while initiating work towards the development of a National Animal Health Emergency Plan.
The workshop is led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and conducted with support from the Pandemic Fund, as part of efforts to strengthen Maldives’ capacity for effective preparedness and response under the One Health approach.
