Women are being killed. Women are being found dead.

And still, somehow, the burden keeps returning to women.

“Be careful.”
“Don’t walk alone.”
“Don’t go to isolated places.”
“Share your location.”
“Tell someone where you are.”
“Watch your surroundings.”

It’s not walking alone! It’s not isolated places! It’s not locations! It’s not lack of communication! It’s not surroundings!

It’s MEN! It’s violent perpetrators!

We have heard it all.

Women have adjusted their clothes. Their routes. Their schedules. Their movements. Their LIVES. And women are still being murdered.

So let us stop pretending that the solution is teaching women how to avoid being victims. Women did not create this violence. Women did not create a culture in which another person’s body becomes a site of violence. Women did not create femicide.

The question is not what women should have done differently. The question is:

Why are men killing women?
Why are women not safe in their communities?
Where is the intelligence?
Where is the policing?
Where is the accountability?
WHERE IS THE PRESIDENT?!
And how many more women must die before “concern” becomes action?

We need justice.
We need accountability.
We need women to be ALIVE!
