🚨📌🧵
I have been bouncing like a tennis ball. I have a spring on my step, and do you know why ...The @risj_oxford has published my project, my LABOUR of Love.
It has been surreal. I have also been overwhelmed by the response from those people who have read this work...
This happened to me today and I had to give the guy a second look. Because in what world do I have a child who's old enough to work as a cashier at Clicks??
I have noticed this. Men around our age tend to address us as older. It’s not random. They are not confused. They have mothers, aunts and other women in their families. They know what a woman that’s older than their generation looks like.
This thing yontanga bethu calling us "mommy","mamzo", or someone who is my younger brother's age calling me "mommy". Kahleni bafethu. Sibadala, asali, kodwa how can a 30+ yr old person see a "mommy" in me?
My first born is 14. I can't have indoda enetshebe calling me "mamzo". 😭
