Jess Phillips is absolutely raging with contempt at Nigel Farage:

This is the same Jess Phillips who, as Safeguarding Minister, refused to launch a proper government inquiry into grooming gangs in Oldham and whose party voted to block a national inquiry into the whole scandal.

The same Labour Party whose councils and authorities turned a blind eye for years while thousands of vulnerable British girls were systematically groomed and abused. Where was this foaming outrage then? Did the industrial scale abuse of children make her seethe with the same fury she is showing over Farage resigning to force a by election and let voters judge him?

And the ultimate hypocrisy: this woman who cares so much about being in government that she resigned her own ministerial post under Starmer is now clutching her pearls because Farage is resigning his elected seat to face the people again.

If the job is such a sacred privilege that you cannot play games with it, why is Labour refusing to stand a candidate in this by election? Dodging the democratic process they claim to worship?

🚨NEW: KC Anu Mohindru has been allowed to continue being a barrister despite falsely claiming that he studied medicine at Oxford University and for claiming that he was a qualified doctor.

He also claimed that he had played cricket for the Bar, for Lashings Cricket Club and for MCC, and that he was a cricketing blue having represented Oxford in a varsity match against Cambridge.

A tribunal disbarred him for telling his 23 Essex Street interviewers a “reckless, foolish and completely unnecessary lie” about studying at Oxford, and because he “doubled down" on his CV.

On appeal at the High Court, Mr Justice Johnson overturned  Mohindru's expulsion, stating that it "would be wrong to impose the ultimate sanction merely because dishonesty is present".

I am having a drink this evening with a friend in a Chiswick pub. Two policemen have just come into the pub and asked me to step outside. I have stepped outside and they have threatened me because I tweeted about a councillor banning seating outside pubs in Chiswick. They admit on video (watch it!) that I did not break the law at all. They came to threaten me. To warn me off tweeting about councillors and the council. This is modern Britain. This is the police state. Please, please, please watch this video. It does involve me using very bad language, but this has got to be seen. Police coming out to threaten someone who hasn’t committed a crime. I’m fuming.
