@FFXTidus2 @FrankieLollia They were made into mandatory enemies for game completion and were muuuuch weaker as a result. I think the main reason I stuck it out in the end was because, despite how cheesy it was, I was mega invested in the Yuna x Tidus relationship. Also teenage me crushed on Rikku lol

@FFXTidus2 @FrankieLollia Yeah the gameplay being more action focused helps it a lot, and to be honest I found the story mostly forgettable, but it was nice getting to spend some time seeing what happened to characters after the end of X. The dark Aeons got a huuuuge downgrade though -_-

@FFXTidus2 @FrankieLollia Yeah that’s a fair point I was being a bit reductive. I’ve definitely heard people argue that the dress sphere grid and “girl-focused” cast stopped them playing tho, and that’s a shame. Utter bollocks of a story or not it’s a fun game.
