An adaptation of #Atlee's #Tamil film #Theri, #BabyJohn leans heavily on the traditional masala entertainer template... While the basic plot may lack novelty, director #Kalees elevates the material with a larger-than-life treatment, garnishing the narrative with some impactful dramatic moments and electrifying action pieces.

Additionally, this high-octane action entertainer carries an undercurrent of emotions, which stands out as one of its key strengths.

On the flip side, the first half feels stretched, and as noted earlier, the writing could have avoided relying on repetitive, formulaic situations... Additionally, the soundtrack falls short, lacking a memorable score that resonates with the audience... However, the background score is terrific.

This is a career-defining role for #VarunDhawan, who delivers a restrained performance as a doting father while exuding sheer power as a fearless cop.

#JackieShroff delivers a powerful performance, embodying the menacing antagonist with absolute conviction.

#SalmanKhan's cameo elevates the film's energy. An electrifying performance that is guaranteed to draw whistles and claps.

While her role is limited, #KeerthySuresh brings abundant charm and freshness to the proceedings... #WamiqaGabbi is decent, though her role could have been better developed... #RajpalYadav has some standout sequences to shine in, and he delivers with excellence.

#BabyJohn is released during the #Christmas and #NewYear period, which should boost its prospects... It is primarily targetted at mass audiences.
