Can't thank enough everyone here who has collected my work in the past, and who still do. These zines wouldn't be possible without you.
The third issue of Sniffin Glue is out now, showcasing my latest collection "General Poetry". Fully self-published. The original artworks featured in the zine have also been made available on the site.
I hope you grab a copy. Hell, I hope you even grab an original to celebrate with me. Because this collection, and this small collage bible that goes with it, was one damn big labor of love.
Thanks.
I've felt unmotivated to post recently. My months(or more)-long art projects get lost in a sea of endlessly produced AI-generated art. I'm not against AI—it's useful. But now, anyone without developed art skills can post thousands of master-quality pieces, blending the creative essence of all artists. For example the image on this post took me 60 seconds and almost no thought to make.
Those of us taking the long route, produce less art. It's hard work, rarely at a master's level, and it gets buried in AI noise. I'm curious how other artists feel facing that?
AI empowers nearly anyone to create wonders, which is incredible. But sad for the many displaced or diminished jobs as automation sweeps through global markets. Companies adopting AI early, out-compete others, forcing them to adapt or fail. Even if protests delay automation, those companies that yield can't compete and die. The market favors value, like gravity. Delayed adoption means failure. If your job faces automation, you must embrace it to expand your capabilities. It's bittersweet but not new—the industrial revolution is littered with the graves of skilled job types. This time, it's ultra extreme, accelerating steeply toward the singularity.
If humanity shares automation's gains, we could see a future of incredible abundance, free from the rat race of work and taxes. It'll be bumpy—governments barely discuss this unstoppable series of growing tsunamis, the first of which are already upon us.
The key question: Does your government prioritize elite interests while spinning reasoning to claim its public good, or does it genuinely represent the nation's individuals as a whole? That's the strongest logic gate for a positive outcome.
Governments must resist the temptation to hold back the automation wave—it sounds like a really good-- sensible idea, protect people from the change. But is actually very dangerous. If they do, their nation falls behind others. Not on a linear scale but on an exponential curve, a small gap becomes insurmountable, with efficiencies multiplied by intelligence and manufacturing capacity. Imagine a world where China is two or three exponential steps ahead of Europe or the USA. They'd be so far ahead, impossible to catch as their progress is accelerating away. The gaps width accelerates and the chance for catching up is almost impossible. They could dominate in any way they chose, would just come down to their values for where the limits are. ☯️
I hope we're not doomed! This could get rough

NFTs should never have been used as financial devices dressed up as juvenile cartoons, simply to line the pockets of grifters.
