Every single person who still cringes at the memory of trying to bullshit their way through an interview or exam question: today, the slate is wiped clean. Set down your burden of shame. Nothing - nothing, I say - could touch this.
A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.
One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.
Awkward. Speaking in parliament in 2022, John Swinney railed against the economic illiteracy of people suggesting he had the right to spend ringfenced money on other things.
🤣 @JamTarts launching their new kit with Lawrence Shankland still in the promo video is honestly peak Hearts.
Either nobody could be arsed checking it, or they’re that gutted he’s away they’ve decided to keep him in for one last cry.
Watch till the end he’s still there. 😂
Those VAR audios are worse than you'd ever think. Just making stuff up, seeing what they want and ignoring what they don't. The result is the same, celtic benefit. That is what the current system does.
It is an absolute joke!
beaton when looking at the screen didn't even have a clue when he looked at it that it actually hit his hand! He had to ask them & then even looking at it himself asked the question ''did it def hit his hand''!!
It is just cheating
👀 A potential a red card for Celtic, in the first half (the first in over 2 yrs)..that could end their title challenge (would've been their first red card at Parkhead v Rangers in 16 yrs..) so they dont want to see any other angle..in case they see a red card offence!!

Apart from anything else (and there is rather a lot to unpack) there isn’t even consistency of approach.
One referee who seems irritated to be asked to change his mind. Another who just defers towards what he is told.
That isn’t a valid or functioning system.
If our club dont go all out for Collum after that idiotic excuses he used to back up the VAR decision on Moore at Parkhead we deserve everything we get.
It's cheating and covering up of the highest degree.
Hound him till he is sacked Rangers.
Do you have 100% conclusive evidence of the ball striking the Motherwell players hand?
In your own words “the on-field decision should be supported”
“But it’s about proof….it needs to be clear evidence”
Willie Collum & @ScottishFA, you have been caught out
Why you are lying?
▶️ Here's what happened when VAR checked if Hearts should have been awarded a penalty against Motherwell.
At 6pm on @SkyFootball watch Scottish Football VAR Review to hear what the SFA's head of refereeing Willie Collum made of it 📺
For the last fortnight you could only imagine the corruption/stupidity that was unfolding amongst top match officials desperate to be seen NOT to be acting against Celtic.
When you actually hear it, it’s worse than what was imagined.
The Scottish game is corrupt. It’s that simple
Anyone in any doubt about corruption within @ScottishFA have a wee listen to this decision that influenced the tainted @CelticFC title. A decision that they admitted was wrong now. DISGUSTING 🇱🇻🇬🇧🇱🇻
The offside goal at Pittodrie. This was the moment it was clear that the SFA would use anything at their means to keep @CelticFC in the title race and of course they got them over the line at the end.
