@enitandev Whatever they said about give a man a fish or teach a man to fish????
Wouldn't it a better long term investment to provide vocational education free for these destitutes, build mechanized farming, carpentry and other artisanry platforms to engage them after graduation?
I recently met with a 90-year-old retired John Aya in Mbo, Akwa Ibom. He started work in 1962, served with Cross River Agricultural Development, later transferred to the Cross River Basin Authority in 1982, and retired in 1989.
For decades, he was paid his pension. But in 2023, he was suddenly told his service record was “just 7 years” and that he no longer qualifies.
This man is now completely blind, in poor health, and unable to afford his medications. He has all his letters and documents proving his service, yet he has been abandoned by the system he once served.
He has been seeking help, reaching out to me repeatedly, until I finally went to visit him. What I saw broke me, this is not how a country should treat its elders.
Soon, I will begin releasing videos of him narrating his ordeal, with documents to back every word.
I appeal to you, my friends: please share this story until it reaches those who must act.
We call on @PTADNigeria and @CrossRiverbasin , justice delayed is justice denied.
Pension is not charity. Pension is a right.
🌶️THE ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF ONE CITIZEN
In Nigeria, the life of an average citizen is treated like it’s dispensable. But here’s the bitter truth: when a nation doesn’t value its people, it silently kills its economy. You can't grow an economy with broke people.
On the 17th of April 2024, I will attempt to break the Guiness World record for the longest Chess marathon in the heart of Times Square New York City for 58 hours without losing a game.
Doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education.
I watched this video over and over again with a lot of sadness.
Not many Nigerians know what to do when a person collapses.
Remember that the collapsed person can be you. Or your friend. Or partner. Or parents. Or even family.
So what do you do when someone collapses?

LET THE HUNCHBACKED BREATH... DON'T KILL THEM FOR MONEY/MERCURY!
I am making this post after reading the story of Mr. Lucky, the 24 year old man who was killed in Port Harcourt because they wanted to extract the "mercury" in his hunched back for ₦10 million. It's even sadder to read that they had earlier been approached by an "NGO" who promised to give his father and brother ₦5 million if they give him up to them so that they can extract the mercury on his back.
This means, there are other people who might be going round doing the same thing as I write this. Besides ignorance being deadly, the length our people go to make money is unfathomable. Let me state clearly that THERE IS NO MERCURY IN HUNCHED BACK!
Hunchback, known as kyphosis in medical term is an excessive forward curvature in the upper back. The one we're really talking about here is congenital kyphosis, which occurs when the spine does not develop properly before birth, causing kyphosis at birth. It can rapidly worsen with age.
There are other types which are not so serious like postural kyphosis, Scheuermann’s kyphosis, and age-related kyphosis.
If you have children with kyphosis, surgical procedure can reduce the curvature to relieve symptoms. The earlier they are treated, the better.
Healthcare providers recommend spine surgery for people with:
1. Congenital kyphosis.
2. Scheuermann’s kyphosis with a curve of more than 75 degrees.
3. Severe back pain, even after trying nonsurgical treatment.
In all, it is barbaric to read or hear that people still stigmatise and/victimise other humans simply because they have kyphosis in this 21st century. I charge you to discourage it vehemently when you see ones. They are humans, not just some creatures to be offered as sacrifices or killed for non-existent mercury
